Hi friends, I am thinking to extend the warranty of my laptop. It is working fine currently. There was a small problem over heating which is now solved after I have cleared the vent and using a cooling pad.
But the main problem is my warranty has expired a few weeks ago and the company is charging me an extra amount of money for that. That is why I can not decide whether to go for it or not.
What do you? Does it worth it? Have you ever extended the warranty before? How was the experience in extended warranty period?

Yeah that's for sure. I have a lot of useful documents in my laptop so I am very careful about that. Thanks for your suggestion.

I have never extended the warranty of my laptop before as I don't think it is worth the money that we pay for it. I usually getmay laptop fixed from one of my siblings as they are pretty good at it and can solve almost all computer related problems for me. Also, extending the warranty isn't worth it in my opnion as I feel that the laptops don't have a very long usage life and warranty will not do much for the laptop...

Thanks for your suggestion. Actually I thought they will provide complete coverage in extended warranty but actually it is not.
Besides they are now charging me extra as my warranty has ended and I have not extended it within warranty period.

i never bought ana dditional warrenty to extend the warranty period for a pc naturally it depends from waht kind o pc you bought...normally laptop or desktop are created to have a long life so in some cases even important producer as asus or acer uses low quality hardware and so for this reason amny people on some models found problems...naturally t is always difficult prevent this before your shopping...in reality i saw some warrenty extension and in many cases they don't worth too much...

Usually warranties aren't worth the price you pay for them. I fix my own computers, and most of the times they fail you can fix it reinstalling the operative system, of the few times hardware gets damaged the actual price of fixing it (buying new hardware) is a lot less than the price of warranties. And taking into account that a well cared computer doesn't stop working that easily, you end up saving money from learning to fix it yourself. The only way a warranty is useful is if you don't want to learn at all for some reason (it's not that hard but there are people who hate it). If you never really want to do it yourself, then go ahead and extend it, but its far more profitable learning to fix them yourself.

Actually I am trying a lot to learn the tricks to fix a minor problem so that I can fix it myself. If I take it to a somebody to repair he will definitely charge me an unreasonable amount for that problem.
Thanks for your suggestion.
