As a muslim, i believe that is miracle from Allah, and it meant to show something to all other Muslim. Some try to give some scientific explanation which is architecture. and some theory are "The Mecca Alignment". Mecca is the directions for muslim to pray. So in Northwest Coast of Sumatera, Mosques are aligned on an angle with the coast line. So the mosque in this particular location presented a corner rather than front facade to the ocean and the oncoming tsunami wave. The full force of the destructive wave was divided to flow down either side rather than blasting into the front of the building which might have caused greater damage. Do you think this is a Valid Point?

If you believe it is not a miracle, then why was the mosque the one left untouched by the devastating tsunami? This doesn't mean that all mosques are free from destructive things when incidents happen.

I think you are reading a lot of nonsense into a normal situation. Yes it may have been the alignment of the buildings or that they were built rather well but it is not any sort of miracle but it you wish to kid yourself and believe that then carry on as long as you don't try and kill someone because they do not agree with you

Quite right facts are not nonsense and the facts are that some buildings were standing and some were not and if you investigated why some were standing you will no doubt find that there is some structual or postional reason for this but not a miracle. However I suggest you do not investigate as you wish to believe it was a miracle and if you found it was not then you would be disappointed and that would not be good.

My cousin was practical Doctor at Medan Indonesia, and she was sent there to be volunteer during Acheh Tsunami, recently we was just going thru picture when she was there.. On the area where the tsunami hit the worst, only mosque survived on that area.. That is significant!

It was probably a coincidence. Or the Mosque was probably built better than the churches surrounding it. :L
