I think what makes mylot different from other writing sites is that here you are paid for your participation. By giving out good comments, one could increase your participation level and earn more. It has got good spam control mechanism and other such features that makes the whole site interesting and encouraging. What is your experience with myLot participation?

I like Mylot i think that it is addictive and i find myself being on here because im nosey and dont want to miss any good discussions. I have posted what i think are good posts and discussions and i am still struggling to get my rating up. I think the earning is a bit slow and i am struggling to meet the target of $10 a month but it is a good site.

That brings up another question. How to increase the rating? What are the strategies one should follow to increase their rating in MyLot. I feel simple participation is not enough and giving quality comments can increase one's ratings.

Well yeah, earning can be really slow here. Like what most Mylotters say, knowledge, ideas and friends are the things you find here in Mylot, money is just an icing on the cake. :)

@georgegijo Mylot rating is the number you can find after your username (the one enclosed in a parenthesis). This rating shows your level of activity so this will increase whenever you answer a discussion or create your own.
However, the number before our username (the one in a star) is the Mylot reputation. Your reputation will appear as soon as your rating hits 100. The only thing you can do to increase your rating is to create quality posts and hope other members will give you a positive rating (by hitting the + sign below your post).

Everything you said is true. I joined another forum site before but I got tired eventually because most of the members there are just posting for the sake of earning. They do not even bother reading your discussion. They just get the idea in the title and say one liners like "I agree with you" or "This is a nice post".
The one special thing about Mylot that no other forum sites have is it can be mentally stimulating.

I like mylot because I can speak my mind and also receive great advice. I have been going through a lot of personal issues and coming on here has helped me not think about my problems at least temporarily. I love the idea that this site has no spam. I always make it a point to be on here for at least an hour a day.

I agree with you Completlly because it's completlly different from other social networking sites, forums. It's not made for money making, it's made for creating and sharing things we know and what we want to know and get the Response from the family. It's always give best responses to our Queries with best satisfaction it's my experience here.

I’ve been eagerly contributing to any topics that caught my eye and looked interesting. I’ve found once you get in the groove and start answering questions and looking for new ones you seem to enjoy writing here. I’ve had to take a break from mylot in the last little while as I have more time constraints so coming back on board is like riding a bicycle but not as smooth.
