I stepped out of my comfort zone and...

I wrote a letter of complaint to the local hospital. There is a doctor there who is always misdiagnosing people. He is the doctor that treated me last time when I was taken in by ambulance. I told him that I was having severe abdominal pain and vomiting. He gave me a pill called Zofran for vomiting but nothing for the pain. After my husband sought him out, they brought in a shot for stomach cramps. The doctor would not listen to me when I told him what was wrong was not stomach flu. He just ignored what I said and marked it in the records as stomach flu. The shot he gave me is a mild medicine and is not meant to treat something like gallbladder issues so it did nothing for me. I had had enough because this doctor has told me I had a cold when it was asthmatic bronchitis or asthma and my mom went in with a broken back and was told she had a virus in her back that would go away and sent home. This particular doctor is going to end up hurting someone. It is the hospital's responsibility to provide doctors that can correctly diagnose and treat a problem. I wanted them to look into it before someone is seriously hurt or killed by the wrong diagnosis from this doctor. The hospital called and talked to me and they are going to sit down with this doctor. Normally, I am quiet and do not do that kind of thing but I reached a patience point.

I think more people need to do this when something is consistently wrong. It would save some of the reasons for malpractice suits. The good doctors have to pay as much as the poor ones.

There have been times I went in and was treated by this doctor then had to return the next day because he did not give me the care that I needed. Some of the better emergency doctors have asked who the doctor was and when I tell them they seem not to be surprised so it must be a common issue with this doctor.

You have every right to complain if you were not satisfied with the service you received. Make sure all the facts are well presented and documented, especially in such a serious situation. All the best1

Fair play to you for going out of your comfort zone, it's not something I do often enough. If more people stood up for what they believe in like you just did, then the world would be a better place.
