Friends, to those of you who wears contact lens. There are those available in the market that can be used daily, weekly, monthly or even a duration of 3 months to a year. Are you really strict with the use of your contact lens? Do you replace them as prescribed? Or do you just replace them when it gets ripped? What are the repercussions if i use them longer than advised?

When I was using short-time contact lenses, I still use them even after the prescribed expiration. Now, I'm using a one-year contact lenses and I don't think I will still use them after expiration. I will purchase new ones. It's safer and better for our eyes. I want to care for my eyes since I have taken it for granted lately.

I used to wear contact lens but I stopped wearing it coz it is really a hassle. Yes, I always follow what my opto tells me, I don't overuse my contact lens.

I don't use contact lenses yet I'm still pro-glasses 'cause I find them more comfortable. But If I were to use contact lenses I most probably follow the prescribed instruction in using them. It is better to be cautious than sorry when something would go wrong if we ever to abuse our contact lenses, right? But my sister-in-law do wear contacts that last for three months but I think she uses them more than the prescribed duration. A very risky move if you ask me.

I think they wear down over time and become thin after using them for too long. I've tried that before and ended up ripping a huge hole in one of mine. I dont' wear them that much, but I have the weekly ones. Of course 1 pair lasts several weeks for me because I only wear them about once a week if even. They dry out my eyes.. . I prefer glasses. I used to wear contacts lenses everyday during my high school days, it really depends on the brand of your contacts and on how you take care of them, some brands rip easily some last longer. I guess the real indication of getting a new pair is when you start feeling a little irritation in your eyes say itching, redness...
