I'm nearly 49 and I think my favourite toy when I was a girl was my Tiny Tears doll. I still have her up in the loft, she is vert battered, only has one eye and felt tip pen on her. I had her for my sixth birthday.
I also had a dolls house with lights that really worked also when I was a girl and spent many hours playing with the dolls house.
My last all time favourite was my bike, used to love riding my bike round and about. a skill everyone should master
Can you remember what your favourite toy was when you were a child? (Your age today would be a help, so we can see the changes over the years)

My favourite was a particular teddy. She was red with a grey belly and paws. Her name was Sheila. She was the first ever present I got from a family member when my mum and stepdad and I moved to Ireland. It was from my auntie, my stepfather's sister.

hi there,
i had a lot of toys when i was small, given by my mother, aunts, uncles etc, etc. i would play with them but i couldn't enjoy because we were not allowed to take them out of the cabinet. my eldest sister was very strict and mean. she would hit us and abuse us when we were small up to college. but good thing she already left for the US. but my favorite of them are my Barbie dolls, and cooking set.

oh and you know what, now that she is in the states, and we are free KIND OF free to play with them,supposedly........ you know what, i don't even look at them as if they don't matter anymore. i think i am already too old (25 years old) to still be playing with and i don't have time for that anymore. and honestly, i think my childhood was a waste of time. never got to enjoy life and still cant up to now... except for when i am with my boyfriend whom i can't even see all the time because he is far from me.

I had a Barbie doll when I got ot about the age of 8 or 9. Wanted a Pippa doll but wasn't allowed one, I was supposely too old by the time they came out at the age of 11 and still at primary school.
I loved cups and saucers as well and making tea shops up.
My neighbour had a set of Russian dolls which I was allowed ot play with when I was allowed around there, she had grown up children

I am 24 years old and am trying to think of what one of my favorite toys was. I think it would have to be Teddy Ruxpin as I really loved playing with him. I'd sit in front of the t.v. around the age of five and play with him all the time. It's sad though as after my mom passed I decided I didn't want to look at my toys and then decided I did and told my aunt, but when I went to look at them later they were gone, my brother in law threw them out.

I loved the horse when I was young. I had a mop stick I used for my horse. Then when I got alittle older I was given a Barbie doll from my aunt and that was a favorite for a long time until I gave it to my BFF's younger sister. I turned 60 in Novemember.

I don't think I had a favourite toy. I always thought I was not creative at all as I saw my sisters play with dolls. Never was interested in that. Quess I liked cars more and books way more. My first memory of me with a book was as I was 3 years old.. at the age of 5 years old I was able to read and I read and read and read (and hide and read). I think I like that world, I saved every cent to buy a pocketbook.

I used to and still ove books, many of my friends used to moan that my head was stuck in a book and I was always reading.
I remember promising one friend that I wouldn't read anything over the six weeks holidays one year when I was at primary school as she always moaned I was reading books. By the way I failed on the first day of the holidays!!

At 50 I can recall toy cars (regular, hot wheels, and tv/movie themed) and Lego featuring a lot while I was growing up in those pre-electronic game days... And my first couple of bikes when I learned to cycle..

hi shepherdspy the thing i remember about legoes is that when you step on one in the dark with a bare foot you just have not lived its agony with a capital A such as swearing and jumping up and down
and yelling"whoever left this damned leggo here is doomed,I say doomed." lol of course I did not do anything bad just said some
naughty words is all.

i had a stuffed monkey with a plastic face, the type that were popular during the 60's when i was a little kid. i actually still have it but its in pretty rough shape. i saw one similar in an antique market a couple of years ago and while it was in pretty pristine condition, it was worth a fair amount.

mine is a particular stuffed toy, a bull dog to be exact, one that i can also hold on to like a bolster. not that big of course, but still very comfortable. i can't remember how old i was when my mum bought it but i still remember the time she bought it. i was together with her and both of us love dogs. she saw it first and said it was so cute and although i prefer other breeds more than bull dogs, i had to agree it was really cute with its scrunched up face lol so i begged with my mother to buy it although i didn't have to beg much. she loved it too. hehe i think i was nearly in my teens then, 10 or 11 maybe.
now, i still have it though minus its eyes and nose ehehhe what happened was one of my brother's friends came and while playing one of the eye dropped. the next time, the same friend played with it and the nose dropped out...it still had one eye to see with till recently a few years ago, but that too deteriorated and dropped off and so, it's now blind and can't smell but still looks cute and i still have it and i'm in my late twenties. so it's actually quite old.
i wasn't really interested in toys, much less dolls. i wasn't really the typical daughter you could say, i preferred reading even when i was 8 or 9. i still remember going to school library and being crazy over nancy drew and hardy boy books, so much so that i always read while walking home too and got scoldings hehe

i grew up in a farm so stuffed toys and crayons were not for me. I usually stay inside the house though. I scanned books with pictures, i used to clime trees of my favorite fruits, we had cows before so i get to run with them hehe.. i play with toys but as far as i can remember i dont keep a specific one for long.
Now am thinking.. It explains why i get bored sometimes with whatever stuff i encounter after few tries. Its who i am since childhood. :)

Hmm i could remember having barbie dolls..and i could remember the fun i had and the thought that the hair of my dolls would grow!! lol i would often wash the hair and then cut it off and to my disappointment it would not!!! :D I am 27 now and it makes me smile thinking of those days. But i could also remember getting hooked to playing paper dolls which i would create on my own, i would make their beds too out of handkerschief and pencil cases! it was fun..but during fifth grade i started playing with paint, i would paint and paint and i could also remember i have this laboratory gown which i would use while painting. it was white and the color after wards was like rainbow!! lol

Anne 18 -- Unfortunately crossed the longer bridge that I am unable to place my favourite toys.
But in 1970 and 1980 I remember initially we bought black and white tv , after a few years National colour TV (small one) and every day we bought new one --I remember I will not sleep that day night and watching it now and then.
Anything new is liked by us --may be a child or an adult.
that is why after marriage husband and wife they take care of each other so very closely for some time.!!!

Sorry you can't recall your favourite toys.. you must have had so many toys as a child!!
I remeber our black and white telly and only getting ITV and BBC1, and then getting BBC2. I remeber getting our first colour telly and finding it strange going round ot my freind's and watching black and white as they couldn't afford a colour telly.
We look after each other as well
