My husband has a physical job in construction. He has been complaining about a sore back and legs lately. He sleeps most of the time on the couch but perhaps he should sleep in bed because of his sore back. I had a discussion about the couch vs bed and most of you said that the couch leaves you with a sore back. Anyway, I think that it's time to let my poor husband sleep in bed and if I can't stand his snoring I will move to the couch, it doesn't bother me to do so. They say if you have back pain , you shouldn't lie down to much that it's better to move around but sometimes, I wonder it that is true. Sometimes, we just want or need more rest, I know my husband is really tired these days, he doesn't get much time off work. I hope he can take some time off this weekend and just rest his back and body. How do you deal with a sore back, My Lot, friends? your thoughts, please.

The most important for your husband is, do not sleep on the mattress, because it will make the spine following the shape of the bed, even if it be in spring, give the base with a wooden board so that the bed is curved. I will give you tips to prevent back pain: Always stretch before exercise or other activity that weight.Do not bend when standing or sitting. When standing, keep your weight point to be balanced on your feet. While working at home or at work, make sure your work surface is at a comfortable height for you. Sit in a chair with a good and proper position and height for the task. You sit interspersed with regular walking or doing light stretching to reduce muscle tension. If you must sit for long periods, rest your feet on a low stool or a stack of books.Wear comfortable shoes and low heeled.Sleep with angled to reduce stress on your spine. Always sleep on surface is quite dense, not too soft.Ask for help from others when you are lifting heavy objects.Do not lift by bending. Lift objects by bending your knees and squat to pick up objects.Keep your back straight and continue to bring the object into your body. Avoid turning the body while lifting.Better push than pull when you must move heavy objects. may be useful !!

hi,according to me it is good to have enough rest periods in week end's and even between work if possible. In the mean while you can ask him to do some stretching and strengthening exercise for back and abdominal muscles. These exercise will help him from pain and strengthen his back. Also he has to practice some of the postural correction exercise and strictly avoid heavy work till the present situation subsides. You can even consult an orthopedic doctor or a physiotherapist who can assess him and solve the problem better.

First of all start giving him a spoon of honey in hot milk and tell him to rest on hard bed or floor instead of couch to get rid of this problem and do give him oil massage at back.

I heard that there are some remedies for snoring, but don't know much about it... I think you're right that for a sore back sleeping in the bed is better. For me it usually helps with pack pain if i do yoga. You can find books or look up some videos or explanations. Simple exercises don't require a lot of energy and can be relaxing if someone is tired. I found that doing yoga exercises even just for a few minutes help with the pain.

i would suggest going to a doctor, to make sure it is not a slipped disk or something else that is serious. I dealt with a sore back for over a year caused by sciatica, which believe me is no walk in the park. I went to the doctor and he gave me some exercise to do to help stretch the muscles, and help with the pain. and they actually did work after a few days.
