I think that there are a lot of reasons why some students chose to study abroad. I think that you can gain and learn a lot by doing this. It's a great experience to be able to live in a different country. You learn about a different culture, new things, different views, and such.

yeah,i agree with you to some extend. but you know studying abroad costs a lot, and sometimes it's just not necessary. you can also get known to the knowledge you need in your home country, and they will be back after several years abroad. in addition, it causes heavy load to their family(i say those whoes family are not that rich).

The opportunities that they have are something that is drastically different than what you might find in their home country. For some, we can find what we need without going abroad easily. For others, it is rather difficult to find the opportunities. So if you can't find the opportunities that you want inside your comfort zone you tend to rather venture right outside of that comfort zone. Or so is the impression I got.
Plus many people, it is a chance to get something different out of their life. It is a change to spread your wings and do something that might be a bit more daring. It would be something extremely different behind the comfort zone. Maybe a bit too daring for the liking of many, but if it a different opportunity that they seek, a different experience, they surely they can do far worse than studying abroad.
