Would it be a good idea for schools to ask students' opinions about lessons?

I think it is a good idea and our school is executing this policy. We can see the lessons' qualities getting better and better. In the past, we thought that several courses are quite monotonous. But now these courses become more interesting and lively. I think it helps a lot and we should keep on doing this.
What do you think? Would it be a good idea for schools to ask students' opinions about lessons? :)

I think it's a brilliant idea! With such co operation, the school can function much smoothly than normal. But, getting the opinions from students may be hard as they might think their opinion can change their grades or something! So, make sure they know it's to improve the school, not anything else. Getting honest opinions about lessons not only helps the student to learn, but the teacher understands his mistakes and can change his teaching style to help the students understand better. Hope this helps :)

Do not worry, most questionnaires are anonymous so students will not be suffer from what they think. :)

for certain grade levels, there are expected set of knowledge and level of proficiency and intellectual capacity for schoolchildren to learn and acquire. thus, it is not advisable to ask students at this level. however, for graduate level, students have ideas which are worthy to be considered in the design and implementation of the academic instruction.

Hi there,
Not to ask if it would be good but to say now this is being implemented in all schools and colleges. Students feedback is a good tool for better teaching learning process.
I teach in a college. We take students feedback on both subject concerned and teachers concerned. Like which subject they feel at home and which they feel they need extra care and not been taught in the class regularly. Similarly, teachers are also evaluated. On their evaluation the particular teacher needs to improve his/her teaching methods.
This is , I think a good move for better teaching.

I think this is an excellent idea as that schools can improve there standards and why not ask the people who attend the lessons that way they will get the truth. Businessess use surveys to help improve there services so why shouldnt schools do the same.

I have to re-read the question you've posted to really get the point in here because it's a great question for those who are going to school, involved in school, or sending someone to school. I don't think it best for instructors or teachers asking idea from students about lessons, especially in the lower grades. However, the schools can make a research on what the students enjoy most about the lessons or subjects and come up with a program that will provide the answers to the outcome of the research.

I guess it would be a good idea to ask for the opinions of the students about lessons in order for the schools to capture the interest of the students and as well as to prevent boredom for the students.
