hi mylot friends,
All of us know that the trend of present political parties, most of the parties (99 percent) are interested in their seats, either it may be Assembly or Parliament seats, they are keen in getting the seats in their respective assemblies/parliament, but no party is caring for the people, but they are pretending that they are doing every thing to the public mean poor people, with water ,Electricity, employment, social security, Education and health, but all are only up to their promises and in the papers, but we never find any of these things for the people, actually they does not have time to concentrate on people, they are immensely interested in getting contracts to their party people, or any posts to the party people, they are more interested in them first and next to the party and after that the people, Govt is not educating the people ,if the people learn them selves and know what is political parties trend, they never vote, so they throw away bucks the main leaders and money & liquor to the small people in the party and completing their work and earning money and money and more money, but they does not know how much money they will take with them after death, every body know about this, but still they are doing their own , where the people is going?

I rather think that most politicians really could not care about the people they serve. They might claim that they are rather helping, but really the people are just rather a means to the end. The only difference between many political parties, is the types of people that they are going to cater to, to entice, to encourage people to vote for them. And slightly different beliefs about how they want to screw people...er I mean run the government.
And there are a fair few politicians who want to make a difference, but sadly power does do strange things to people. Where they start losing track about what they are going to want to do, and what they intended to do to the beginning. They really lose track it was the people that put them in that nice cushy seat, so they are going to run away with power. Then again, the real measure of getting elected is to convince people that you are different enough or that you are the less of two evils.

Hi Sreedhar,The political class in India is disgusting to say the least ! Most of them are from criminal background, have no basic education nor etiquette, nor do they care about the country .Each time I go to vote I feel that we should also have an option to show that none of them are really worth it - so you can vote against all of them...The way most of them speak itself puts me off..honestly when can we hope to get dignified leaders who we can be proud of - in my opinion, never

This is politics for you in the modern era. When our country got independance the persons who ruled the country were statesmen.Their aim was to govern the country in an able manner and see that it prospered.Their intention was nt to make money or make profit, but see thatthe people got their due.Now politics has become a lucrative career for those who want to make a quick buck in a short time.Corruption has completely enveloped the system and criminal elements have taken over the parties. These parties only want power and to loot the country and the people. The illiterate and uneducated masses are promised all sorts of things during elections and ignored completely after they are over.Educated people are disgusted with the politicians because they know very well that the promises made are all false. Not a single party or politician cares about the people.Unfortunately the present day scenario is very grim and it does not look bright for the country as there are no leaders who can take the country to great heights.

Yeah, that is the sad state of Indian politics. I am told other countries are no better. May be we need to modernize politics by asking people to vote for projects, policies, and politician's remuneration rather than letting few individuals take those decisions without really considering the interests of the nation.

That is somehow to be expected, as sad as it sounds. Some people or politicians are only interested in the power and not the service. they only know how to charm the people in voting them but not keep their end part of the bargain. There are only too few politicians that take their duty seriously and sometimes, they too are mixed up with the people who don't do their jobs.
Two solution for this is responsible voting and to remain vigilant. Being vigilant means to press politicians for changes and to keep their promises. Politicians should be reminded that their owe their present position and authority for those who voted for them and not just by themselves.
