Ragging

In my college,Ragging is banned..At least a look towards the junior shows as ragging..The junior student can make a complaint on the senior people in the name of ragging..In My opinion,Ragging is needed in some methods..But on the same time,There should be a limit..If we have no any right to ask at least their name,they will be very confident and begging to laugh at us..

Hi Tamosree Strict actions are being taken against ragging and the situation is much better than it used to be few years back. It depends a lot on the management and faculty of any college, how much they want to check these activities in their campus. Private colleges try to take as much actions as possible to make sure it isn't repeated because it a direct attack to their reputation. Where as when it comes to government colleges.. we all know how it goes.

Ragging is definitely not an expected or good thing but the matters which is flashed in media are not always the same or only that which is flashed. May be there is some hidden truth which people can not see or know from outside of the situation. I was junior in engineering college and senior too. I am now in my senior years of another course of engineering but through out my career I have not faced such incident. My seniors had definitely ragged me but it was all fun, nothing serious. Sometime personal problems which leads to a fight is also termed as ragging if one of the student is new comer. And now a days it is common thing even in general graduation colleges, not only engineering and medical colleges. You should know that. New comer students also sometime take the advantage of being a new comer. And it is true. I have also seen such cases in my career where a personal problem was termed as ragging ( actually it was a problem of two girls falling in love with the same guy and as result senior one threatened the junior one to stay away from her guy and junior one complained it as ragging coating some color on it and the senior one was suspended).
