'Half the sky, thou are women' , once said Mao- Tse- Tung. No society can advance without proper recognition of women. And their status in a civilized society should be at per with that of men. Neglecting the needs of women one invites the downfall of the very structure of the society. For ages India has been holding women in high esteem. It is India which has proclaimed that mother and motherland are greater even than heaven itself. History too affirms that ancient India society never failed to maintain more or less dignified status for the women.
But this place of dignity has not been uniformly and continously maintained. At times and that's a long time, this partriarchal society dominated by males has brought down various kinds of inhuman oppresions like burning of the Sati, child marriage, hateful dowry system, etc. Women have been deprived of all human rights of civilished life like minimum education and freedom.

I respect women as I respect myself. I know their contributions to society and history, and most of all their roles in a man's life. It is just sad to learn of this unfortunate circumstances. I believe in justice and I know that it will come in the right time either here on Earth or in the afterlife.

It is sad to see that women are called "less worth" anywhere...
I have always respected women and always will, because I am aware of how important they are to the society.

Mao -Tse-Tung was wrong, way more as half the sky is women!
There ar way more women in this world as men, although there are more boys born as girls. Isn't it interesting that after all these ages they are still the underdog? That in many countries there were right for the children long before there were rights for women?
That women work harder but still are not equall? And men still make all the rules. You never wonder how come, why they are so afraid of women that they feel the need to humilate, dominate them already since ages?

I respect and admire women who are responsible in all areas of their lives. There had been women of long ago whose life has been a great example for all women to emulate. Without the women, the men are just nothing. Women are created for a purpose. They have a special part in the affairs of the family, the community, and the country as a whole. Without women, our society would not be as good as it is today. I believe that when women perform their role to the best of their ability, this world would be a better place to live in. I remember one woman in my life - my mother who's been so caring and loving. Without her, I would not be here on this earth. So, let's take care of our women.
