Hi guys Well this is a bad new for all the ptc user who used weebly for promoting there online earning experience with others they have changed there TOS #6 http://www.weebly.com/tos.php at least they should have inform everyone as all the hard work many users put to create those blogs are now gone down the drain with no backups and all if they might have informed then at least people would have backed up all what they can and now they have to start all over again this is one of the reason why strangely i use to see deleted blogs being promoted in many ptc site. have you being effected by this and also can we now trust other free blog hosting site like webs and yolasite or is it better to buy a domain now

Please don't complain that Weebly 'should' notify you. The very first paragraph states: "We reserve the right to update and change these Terms from time to time without notice to you." Most sites, in fact, have a similar clause in their T&C. When you sign up to a site, you check a box saying that you have read and understand the Terms. If you haven't, in fact, done so, you have only yourself to blame! When you create a site, especially on a free website, it is simply a matter of common sense to make sure that your data is backed up. Sites do go down without warning and data is lost (again, the Terms clearly state: "You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and web site ..." and that means keeping a copy of your own data as well as other security measures. In fact, the only significant change they have made to the Terms is to make it doubly clear what content is and is not allowed by posting a "quick reference" at the top. They have ALWAYS claimed that content and sites which violate their terms may be removed without notice. Even when you pay for hosting, your content is liable to be removed if it violates the sites Terms. It pays to read the Terms EVERY time, whether the site is free or paid, and to contact Support if you are unclear whether your content is liable to contravene their TOS.

I've read the TOS. They didn't exactly mean it, but there's just a "may be" accent. I understand it as abusing of others' copyrighted contents. The clause gives me more of such meaning. I really don't think, if we play fair, our blog may be deleted. (But I am not a weebly member, so don't have any personal experience.)

Oh...lots of users complaining. Why did they do it? (Probably everyone is publishing one page website and no one purchasing the hosting package? But I don't think so. At least 5% of those free members might have purchased something with them.)

Just a strange move from a good site

Given the cost of running your own website (you can now have your own site for less than $10 per year, domain and hosting included), I don't think there is any need to bother with free blogs. The danger of being deleted without warning, at least if you have your own site you can easily make complete backups.

:) I really wasn't meaning to promote here - but my own hosting company can do that price (14.99 for two years hosting, $3.17 for a domain name). Other possibilities are polarwebservices.com they have a hosting plan for around $10 a year if memory serves.
