What I notice in our today's music industry, is that, there are many songs with lyrics with the"green factor" or that "sexy lyric factor" then they are being combined with pop and bubbly melody, then when the song is released, people think it is being catchy, yes, it's the melody that is bubbly or catchy but the lyrics is not, you need to read between the lines to figure out the meaning.
Apart from that, what is your view on today's music?

Music is like any other product today. It mostly depends on how much money is invested in advertizing, and that will decide popularity of it. Talking about quality is hard, since we all have our taste in music, but even that is relatively easy to influence. If someone is exposed to some music for some time, it's likely that will accept it, even though it hasn't been it's favorite genre or style. Another fact is age of music consumer. For teens, whatever is popular in the moment, probably will be good as well. It takes some time to develop personal taste in music (like most other things in life).
Considering huge amount of music produced today, and our possibilities to search it, I would say that is up to each person, to put some effort and will find some good music. Or can be passive consumer, and complain about low quality of it.

Yeah there are lots of variety and types of music today. Some of them do have good lyrics and there are some too that have double meaning with in the lyrics.SOme are too vulgar and there are still songs that are meaningful.

I like the older songs better. The music made before were quality that is why they still exist today. There are many revival of songs from the past. The songs today apart from the factors you have stated just lack the strong emotion that the old songs had. The songs today gets popular just for today and less likely will they exist tomorrow. That is my view of the songs made nowadays.
