I came across "Great Thoughts of Chanakya " -- an intelligent politician, guruji, writer who lived thousands of years ago during Maurya rule in India. 1. Education is the best friend. an education person is respected everywhere. Education beats the beauty and youth. 2. A man is great by deed and not by birth. 3. God is not present in idols. Your feelings are your god. The soul is your temple. 4. Before you start some work, always ask yourself three questions -- why am I doing it, What the results might be and will I be successful. Only when you thank deeply and find satisfactory answers to the questions, go ahead. Have you come across any such interesting learnings. please share. Great man Chanakya.

Hello sir... Chankya is being my best ideal ever and his philosophy always attracts me. He had all fruitful and beneficial advices for mankind. Well, i am not supportive with one of his philosophy where the sloka was like this one...... nadinaancho nakhinaancho sringinaancho astradhaareshu Biswasho Naiva kartyabya streesu raajkulesuswa (may not be proper) where he had said not to believe river, animals having nails, animals having horns, men holding weapons, women and servicemen from an emperor. why women? just cant understand. Have a nice time.

Dear friend, Wished those thoughs of Chanakaya could have still been used in our schools rather using the colonial rulers leftouts. A great intelligent man's abilities and teachings should have been taught in our schools, rather just closing the matter with few lines in those text books that contrains much of foreign history.

Hi Sivan. Actually I didn't know about Chanakya, but I've read that he was a wise and great man in India. In the west he will compared with Machiavello, may be because he has been a great political counselor. It's good that he has left some books where we can read his thoughts and works. It's a pleasure to read thoughts which has been written by people who can give us wisdom for life.
