Keyboard Disappearing

L is gone. O is now a C. S, H, N and E are also on the way out on my keyboard. How about you? Which letters on your keyboard are starting to disappear, does it affect you? I'm can ten finger type without looking, so it doesn't bother me, but my other half spent 5 minutes looking for 'L' the other day to no avail and called me out of the kitchen to locate it for him... lol

I spend my time at the computer hating the keyboard and blaming me for being so lazy so at to not go and get a new one or check if the several old ones I have are in better shape than this one. You can pain the letters (I did that once and it worked) and then cover it with transparent nail polish. I congratulate you for writing with 10 fingers. I use 3 or 4 at the most.

I guess I don´t have so much time or interest to learn that at this time of my life, specially since I have never had any coordination between muy two hands. I knit and used to sew, but I had to tell my stupid hands to do this or that. But writing slowly has its good points though. I´m a writer in my native language and my hands are as slow as my thoughts so that I don´t need much editing.

What is your native language, Marguicha? Spanish? or something more exciting, like Kunza or Aymará (I really had heard of this language before finding out from Wikipedia that it exists in Chile)?

It can be a slow learning process, but eventually it becomes second nature to you and makes the online world a lot more approachable! :)

On my netbook, which I use when I am in UK, the N has gone completely Fortunately my desktop at home is almost new. It will be two years old next June but I haven't been using it for eleven months while I was in UK so at the moment all of the letters are still visible. If I stay put on myLot all day every day though it won't be long before they start disappearing here too though!

I am wondering whether we ought to put in a claim for 'wear and tear'

Haha, I'm guessing that myLot is starting to contribute to the wearing down of the letters on my keyboard too!

How does it just DISAPPEAR? Or do you mean the letter is rubbing off? Surprisingly, with as much as I type, this is happening on neither of my computers - not the laptop OR the desktop - hmm! Of course my "M" key is starting to stick on my laptop, I keep having to push really hard down on it to make it actually work. Ha ha. Oh well. Happy MyLotting!

Haha, yes, the letters are rubbing off. I do a lot of typing as a I run a reptile forum, it keeps me on my toes, so the computer is quite well used! I've had one or two keys getting stuck from time to time, but once I clean the keyboard out it ends up being just fine.

Hello :). On mine A, S, D, W, and SHIFT are gone completely, and Alt and Ctrl are halfway there. That's the mark of a gamer's keyboard :p. But it doesn't really affect me because I've been writing a lot on computers so I kind of write in an automatic way :p. But its strange to hear about an L disappearing. Do you rest your little finger on it or something? :p

My right hand ring finger rests on it because I type 'properly'. A, D, W and Shift are fine on mine, though S is on the way out. No gaming here!

How old is your computer that the letters are starting to disappear? Maybe it's time for a new one. I don't have much trouble with mine except sometimes the keys stick but otherwise it's works alright. My mouse sometimes is in the wrong place and puts letters in the wrong place and that's annoying at times. Maybe just a new keyboard is all you need. anyway, good luck , my lot, friend!

I don't need a new keyboard, he just needs to learn where the letters are so he doesn't have to look at them and he'll be fine lol. The letters are slowly fading, you can tell which ones are used most.

well I have to remember the layout even though it is written on the keyboard as mine are a danish layout, which has the great idea that there are some extra letters, but I always have it set for an american layout as that is easier when I am coding. Therefore all the things that are on the keys are not so reliable, the letters are correct, however other things are different. It makes it very interesting for other people, I could of course choose to setup a dvorak keyboard, but that would be hard in that start, as then I have to remap my internal keyboard so that I don't have to look at the keys, as it would be different from what is on the keys, or I could get the happy hacker keyboard 2 pro (which is blank) However you should perhaps consider getting a new keyboard ?

Oh no, not at all. It's a laptop and the keys aren't missing, the letters on them are just faded, and considering it doesn't bother me, not point forking out for something I don't need!

That was really funny. I cannot type without looking at my keyboard occasionaly and I have no problems with the print on letters and numbers on my keyboard except for the apostrophe, it is not working. I do not know how to fix it.

At present,All my letters are there in my keyboard.I can type with out looking the keyboard. But sometimes i will see the keyboard for typing some words. We will search for the letter and at that time, that letter we are not able to see means,It will be like irritating. So keyboard should be proper i feel. And if others want to use our PC also it will be useful.
