You just want to sell the web source code? Correct me if I am wrong, but you will meet lots of difficulties if you are only selling the source code. In fact, there are lots of free template/HTML source out there - so people don't bother to buy one. In website buying/selling site, you are not only selling the source code, it's more about selling domain's name, its respective Page Rank, Alexa Rank, popularity, and such.. If you have some designing skills, perhaps you will meet better luck at freelance sites such as Odesk or Elance.. Good luck.

I think it is possible, but not as hot as it used to be. Today, any newbie can create his/her own website without any technical background and knowledge with those codes. They can now easily install wordpress on a hosting account, and BAM! A new website is created! But we still see websites being created, sold, or bought. That is if the website is not an ordinary website, like if the website is a mega site which is owned by a mega corporation, when the corporation is sold out, and so its website. Also, if the is a complex site like there are e-commerce facilities like shopping carts and other merchant features, then the site is still saleable nowadays. Newbies can't create something like that unless they have substantial web programming training. Also, other reasons why websites are being sold are, its popularity and its domain name attractiveness. Maybe you can see websites which are considered as "blank websites" with no content, but being sold at high price because of its beautiful domain name.

What kind of website are they? Is it just a good design website or website with some good functions? I think it's pretty worthless to sell some good design website at this point unless you have good artwork. There are tons of premade websites out there.
