I purchased some baby clothing from a seller on Craigslist. She was originally asking $200 for the items, but I talked her down to $100. While I was at the dr, my husband met with her when she brought the items, paid her the $100 and took the items. When I got home, I saw that it was only ONE TRASH BAG of clothing, but she had told me there were over 200 pieces, and they were in perfect condition. I started looking through, and they were stained, faded and mismatched clothes! When I tried to contact her, she didn't reply until the next day. She told me she would fix it Next Week. The week went by with no word from her, then I called her at weeks end and was told it would be the FOLLOWING week now. I sent her a message that I felt I was being scammed and jerked around. She then filed a harassment charge against me! I just want my money of the items I paid for! Is there anything legally I can do? Im in Illinois.

Well, I am sorry for your loss.
I don't think there is something leggally that you can do, because you didn't get any paper that indicates you've bought those things from anybody.
You can try illegal aproaches, but then you assume risks.
Also you can hope that she will spend your money on candles and medicine.

What about voice mails she has left on my phone saying if I post a bad review on Craigslist about her I won't get my stuff? Or the text messages she sent saying she knows she messed up and that she knows she owes me the money or clothes?

You give her a deadline.
It is your money afterall.
If she failes to comply, you threaten her...Then you act.

She changed her number, and none of the ladies that were doing business with her can track her down now....

How frustrating! I can't believe someone would do this.
I don't know that there is anything you can do unless you have some kind of record of the conversations - do you have email records or something?

unluckly in sites like craig list or other classified i think there are always many people trying to cheat others also because it is almost free posting a sale request and so many trying to spread their scam as well as in your case unluckly if members aren't certified we should always be careful whe we want buy something using these networks!

I've not had much experience with Craigslist, but I am wondering if maybe there is someone on the site itself that you can contact. Surely the website is run by someone & I am guessing that they don't want their site to start getting a bad reputation. Other then doing that I'm not sure what else you can do.
