How do you feel Whenever people talk badly about someone you know .it doesn't have to be a close accquantance but how do u react to hearing the bad things said about them do u stick up for them or do you say nothing and just sit there awkwardly wishing they would stop or do you join in making fun of the person

I always find that what my friends talking is what I have never know. I do not know how to talk with them on the subject and how to deal with the problems. In most case, they find that i have no idea about that they will change the topic and turn to something I have known.
But i think it is a good way to get information for you have not know that before.

I'm the type of person who don't easily voice my opinions unless I have some of the facts right. But usually I try to dissipate things even if the person being bad-mouthed isn't even my friend, usually telling them not to mind that person or it's that person's problem, not ours. Sometimes I even change the topic altogether. But I do speak up if I'm certain that the people I'm with got their facts wrong.

I actually have a friend right now who continually bashes my roommate. It's really annoying because my roommate and I are really close and they're supposedly friends (or at least in the same group of friends). It really frustrates me because I really want to stand up for my friend, but I have a tendency to be overly aggressive sometimes, so I don't want to upset him. I guess it kind of is my fault, though. I let it go on and it's just progressively getting worse to the point that I don't want to be around them anymore.
