Can there be spiritualism without religion?

I was born catholic, went to ccd and made my first holy communion. Then I 'left' religion. Now, I don't follow any one religion. For a time, I didn't even believe there was a God. Now, after winning a battle I've been fighting for years, I start and end my day with a prayer. I feel more altruistic-like a philanthropist-the need to help another is that strong. I feel like God will never give me anything I can't handle. I feel at peace.
The question is, does this make me religious also? That would require me to start going to church (which I'm not fond of), wouldn't it? But if I don't believe in organized religion, then where do I fit in?

Definitely. Religion is never compulsory. It depends on you whether to abide on it or not, just follow where you're happy and where you found peace and truth. I am Catholic but I am open to other religions and respect whatever they believe in. Religion causes divisiveness, none should be dominant. Having no religion is not a crime, you can be spiritual without religion, you yourself know you connect with God, you connect with your higher self and with God. God understands you. Your faith and love to Him is enough. I've been in your place where I am asking myself, do I really have to be religious to be a good person? I've seen so many religious people but then I can't even define their act. Disappointing but I am not saying you have to disregard your religion. Just follow where your heart is.:)

Aww. Thank you, too! I just want to tell you that I feel you and I know many others feel the same way, too. It's just that they have to find a way out of that box, so beautifully created to frustrate us. Everything was made for a purpose, just don't blame anything for everything. I mean just shoot, do your stuff without ever thinking what others think about it after all, you don't cause any pain to others by doing that. Respect others, respect yourself. I know you're a good person.:)Nice day, ahead!

Religion will not change you.Only God will work it out.Religion is man made, and God Church is different to man made religion.
Once you are truly a saved, believe Jesus accepting Him your Lord,,you became a true Christian .John1:12.
And you are Christian because of Jesus transform you into new life in Jesus. And not because of religions but because of Jesus..
Just people call you religious ,but you are different to religious-means you are change by religion man made and true Christian-it means transform to new life, born again in Jesus.

I don't think one needs to go to church and partake in an organized religion in order to believe in god. I believe you can have your faith all on your own. Pray on your own. Worship on your own. I was raised Christian by my parents and exposed to Buddhism by my grandparents. I don't really follow either very strictly. I believe in bits and pieces of each. I believe what I believe but I don't attend church or the temple. I wouldn't say I'm an atheist nor do I define myself as Christian or Buddhist. It makes it hard to explain when people ask what my religion is tho!

Of course, being spiritual means that you share a one to one relationship with god, the almighty! Being religious is all about believing what the books say and following the rituals and preachings from the book your religion abides to!
I say that I am spiritual. Not that I am not religious. I am religious too, but I follow only the things that I find meaning in and I feel is right and correct to do! As long as you want to be spiritual, anyone can be. It is always, and should always be one's own decision to whether follow the religion or not!
