was watching tv with the husband, we like to watch alot of cooking shows, tonight we were watching about mcdonalds in other countried such as india and to our suprise they do not use meat in there mecdonalds at all, they use vegetables instead its all veggie burgers, but to be fair they looked really good.made me really hungry.. so i had to go to the kitchen and get me a bite of leftovers to eat, we had eater earlier at zaxbys, i way over ordered, come to 24.00 for 2 people hubby was not happy.. i got extra toast and there deep fried pickles, i just finished off the left over pickles they were better cold then hot.. i promised him next tiem i would not order so much.. we just got a pizza last night from domino's and that was 20,00 as well.. so i guess we will not be eating out again for awhile..
it was good..

Well that's good. If they could offer veggie burger and I mean really all veggie then that is healthy and I would love to eat that. But in our place there is no such thing at Mcdonalds. Maybe because people here are mostly meat eaters.

Hi there Laken02!
I love McDonald's before but since I gave up eating red meat months ago, I don't think I would be eating any of their burgers anymore. I think it's really interesting that they use and serve veggie burgers in India. I hope the McDonald's here in the Philippines will offer that healthy option too.
Like you, what I see on TV makes me crave for food that's why I stay away from cooking shows as much as I can. That also happens when I see food on movies and read about it on books.

I see. Likewise, my husband and I bond over telenovelas and movies. I also need and am interested with cooking shows especially now that I am trying to learn how to cook.

I never knew people from India don't eat meat. I sure would love to taste those veggie burgers though. We have some here in our country. Most people refer to it as veggie meat and some use it not only as a substitute for meat, but sometimes as an add on to lower the cost of a dish. It doesn't taste good though for me. Since I like the burgers of McDonald's, maybe it'd be different. And that's why I refrain from watching cooking shows. They really do make us feel hungry even if it's not yet time for us to eat.

Not all people from INDIA are pure vegetarians, in fact only a sect of the population enjoy the delights of vegetarian cooking and opt out of non-vegetarian dishes.

Well, companies like McD's are out there to make money and that means selling what people want and can eat. Also, local economics plays a part as in how proportionately expensive meat is to the average Indian wage.
Hindus will not eat beef at all and many of them are vegetarian. Buddhists are vegetarian. Muslims will eat meat but it has to be Halal (slaughtered and prepared according to Islamic custom). Sikhs may or may not be vegetarian but when they aren't they won't eat Halal meat because they disagree with the slaughter method.
Imagine trying to cater for members of all four of those religions at the same time and the only sensible solution is to stick to vegetarian food because they can all eat it. This is why Sikh temples serve only vegetarian food - because it can be shared with everyone regardless of their religion.

I hardly ever go to fast food restaurants, but when I go I would like to find someting that I can eat - since I'm vegetarian I never have any options except fries and sweets. It's interesting to hear that they serve veggie burgers in India, I would like the idea if they came up with something like that here, too.

i tryed being a vegetarian once and it lasted about one day if all of that lol i never realized how hard it would be to try and find foods that i like with out meat i found it very hard to do and it took way to much effort for me to find something to eat.. and being as my husband loves meat it made it difficult to shop so i gave it up.. i dont eat alot of meats yet, but i will eat some hamburgar and i like chicken alot.. but i bet the veg burgers at macdonals are very tasty..

They have veggie burger at burger king, and that tastes good.
Yes, it's very hard to be vegetarian with a non-veg husband or family... it's very likely that they would fight over it, but if not, it's still difficult to find anything at all to eat. In a non vegetarian country there are really no options.

I find the mcdonalds' in other countries kind of interesting because the menus are the same but different, if you know what I mean.
I always think it won't cost very much to order in or grab some takeout, but it adds up so quickly.

Veggie burgers..it should be tasting fair with all those spices added. Why the heck are people running in frenzy over non-veg delicacies when there are so many veggie dishes which are highly palatable and nutritious.

I think that's because they respect the animals. I heard from someone that in India, they don't kill the cows because it represents their God. So I understand why is that. It has something to do with their strict religion that's why even in McDonald's, they don't eat the meat.

I watch a vlogger that lives in Taiwan but is from Canada. One time he went into a mcdonald's and he showed us the menu. I forget what was on it, but it was a bit different. I guess every country has a bit different menu then our own. I think though that maybe they should offer more healthy choices over here in the USA.
Zaxby's is good, I've not eaten there in a long time though. Dominoes is also good.
I've been having subway lately as I've been working enough hours to have lunches. I ordered myself a sub before leaving work from work, as I work in a grocery store. It tasted better then subway's, so I may be going there from now on.

my husbadn loves the zaxbee sauce on his chicken.. he craves it.. we always get extra to bring home..
its great that your work has good subs, so i dont blame you i would eat there as well.. sounds good...

Hi laken: That's an interesting fact and I think that was a good decision from Mc Donalds to adapt their recipes to a foreign culture. Unfortunately I think they haven't achieved this in my country. At least they don't use some of the ingredients we love from our country and they just but the standard hamburgers they sell in the rest of the world.

WOw veggie burgers huh,
That sounds healthy and delicious, i'll read on how to make those so that i can eat burgers every day if I can. Yupp food seems to be very expensive lately and better to cook food than to buy since it will save you more on the gas to pick it up or the tax on the food.

we dont eat out every weekend sometimes i cook and my husband would rather eat my cooking then to go out.. sometime i can talk him late at night when he gets home into ordering a pizza, lucky domino's is open late, but right now im not gonna even ask him to go out or buy me anything. im gonna offer to cook.. we just spent over 100.00 on grocerys this week alone.. so he will be more happy with me if i cook instead.. and we got a big heavy ham to cook with brown sugar aand coke.. that will last us for a couple days .. yum..
