Don't get me wrong I was a big fan of Whitney Houston in the 80's. I thought she was beautiful as well as talented and yes I am truly sorry over the loss for her family because I know how hard it is losing someone you love. BUT that being said I can't stand the fact that they are making Whitney Houston out to be some kind of saint when clearly she was not. Nor should she be any kind of role model for young ones today. She was a drug user people plain & simple. She cared more about taking drugs then she did about her family, friends, or fans. True she is not the only celebrity to get hooked on or die from drugs, but she is the most recent one to. Every where I look there is yet another magazine with Whitney Houston's photo on it or an Oprah interview on TV who btw lets face it is just trying to be the next Barbara Walters(NOT). I am so sick of hearing about what a great person Whitney Houston was. Maybe she was at one point, but after the drugs took over there was nothing left of the Whitney that we all use to know & admire.

i am also sick of hearing about her as well, but obviously others are not or it wouldnt be news anymore. its sad how the world has become, it always seem we are focusing on the negative. sure she was a great singer and now she is gone, mourn her, dont forget her but she doesnt need to be front page news anymore.

I also dislike this habit of people idolatrizing a star after he/she passed away...
I do not know the reason for this. It may be the reason to socialize, taken to a level of cinism, or I don't know.
the same happened with Michael Jackson, and mostly to Amy whinehouse (which lots of people that became her ultimate fan didn't even hear about).

That's very true. For some reason they do idolized these people when they shouldn't be. They were humans just like us. Most of them should not be held up as good role models for anyone because they were anything but that.

I assume if you are a famous celebrity and has plenty of dough ($$) in your big bank account, majority of the people in a civil society will judge you very differently compare to ordinary people, you will always be look at and judge from the side of your bright spot and will not be criticized through the dark side of you. All of your short coming can be easily overlook most of the time by people and media.
