Over the counter medication

What the point of taking medication? Every man medicine out there has huge side effects and they are forever recalling medications. Do you think they know that these medications are harmful and send them out anyway to kill a few then recall. Or do you think its always a accident? Also do you take medicine without fearing something bad is going to happen or you try to stay away from medicine until you really have no option?

I try to avoid taking medicine whenever possible. They do more bad things than good, or if we are lucky they are just placebo.
I think over the counter medicine can be dangerous. For example it's easy to overdose OTC painkillers, as they are often not effective enough, so people take them like candies.
I wish there were more available and affordable natural options.
