i didn't exactly just find this out, but i know i didnt mention it here on mylot. so now i am lol. at first i was not really sure how i felt about having a girl. i thought at first that i wanted a boy. i thought boys would be easier i guess. but now i have officially wrapped my mind around having a girl. girls are more fun to dress up anyway :) my husband was also happy that we are having a girl, but he would have been happy if we were having an it lol. anyway i am glad to be having a girl too because everyone who has given me baby things has given me pretty much all girl stuff. so that was really convenient. i just cant wait til she gets here. only 3 more months to go!!

Well having a girl isn't any easier then raising a boy. Boys are girls are just as hard just different standers. My husband wanted a boy first but he was still happy to find out we where having a girl. He took her after a few hours finding out we where having a girl and really took to our daughter after she was born. I hate pink personally so when I found out we where having a girl we I made everyone know I didn't want anything pink at all for my daughter. I can't wait to find out if I'm having another little girl or a boy. I'm hoping for a boy this time just so I can have one of each but another little girl would still be nice. Either way your own kids are always a joy to have. I don't dress my daughter up all girly I'm letting her choice that as she gets older and likes things. 26 more weeks to go that seems like forever when its your second pregnancy.

wow i thought i was the only girl who didn't really like pink. i can deal with pink, but i prefer blue and purple. that is probably what my daughter will be wearing alot of the time. anyway 26 weeks is a long time to go. i am past 26 weeks in lol. i am about 27 and a half weeks. i am so glad i only have about 12 weeks to go :D i am practically dying from anticipation

No that isn't that far way when you think of it. I had my daughter at 35 weeks so I'm probably having my second baby early if he or she is just as small as there big sister. For a boy I wouldn't go with blue I would go for green or yellow. When I had my daughter I told people to get me all anything that wasn't pink. Of course my daughter does wear pink not by my choice or hers. Its hard when you have a baby under the age of 24 months to find things that are not in pink. They tend to go really quickly. I'm going to be 14 weeks this Tuesday which is almost to my half way point through my pregnancy. When its your second baby time seems to go by a bit slower but when you think of it goes by faster then the first time around.

Congratulations!Well, they say that girls are easier to handle because they get disciplined easier than boys & that they're more responsible & sensible.I agree that they're fun to dress. But girls are more likely to be at risk for dangers outside so it's normal for parents to be protective of their daughter. We're 3 girls in the family so I guess it's normal for me to yearn for a boy when I get pregnant because we never had any boys.

Hello birdie,
It is your baby and you will love the baby irrespective of its gender. I have two sons, my hubby wished girl child, initially he disappointed a bit to know it is boy, but he too love the boys so much. It is natural, some like girl child and other like boys but all should love their kids even if their wish is not fulfilled.
My hearty congratulations to you, the angel will come to you very soon for making your day happier.

thank you for your nice words :) i think you are right. nothing can really compare to making your own little human from scratch lol. that will never stop being fascinating no matter what gender the baby is. i already love her (or him...i keep hearing people say ultrasounds aren't always accurate) so much it is crazy

You must be due about the same time my daughter is having her third. They make a point not to see or know the gender. She kind of would like to know but my son in law still does not want to know. He likes surprises. Be careful and be healthy.

that is one of those things i would rather not be too surprised about lol. but hey, whatever floats their boat right? i still think there are enough surprises to go around having a baby and being pregnant though

Congratulations! I have heard boys are easier to raise than girls (my paternal grandmother had 16 kids so I think she'd be an expert), but girls seem like they'd be more fun to interact with if you're a mom. They have the cutest clothes for little girls. And dads get all protective of their daughters. It will be sweet for you guys.

wow 16??? i don't think i could put my body through so much lol. but i would like to have at least one more after this if all goes well with this baby. and yeah she really would be an expert. she should have had her own show lol jk. anyway i already know my hubby will dang near wanna kill anything or anybody who comes near our daughter lol. he is already really protective of me, but i guess my daughter will steal all the attention when she gets here

I would still try and have a gender neutral bedroom for the child. My sister in law had two ultra sounds, both said she was having a little girl. Well, yesterday, Little Finnegan Jacob was born. My mother in law was going to be busy returning all of the girl stuff and painting the pink bedroom.

lol i am afraid of that too. good thing i live in an apartment and therefore cannot paint a room for my baby. also i am glad that i got so many gifts so i don't have to worry about returning stuff because it's not like i paid for it lol. that is why even though my 5 month ultrasound said i was having a girl i still tell my husband not to get too used to calling it a girl. who knows what pop out of there in june lol??? but hopefull it's a girl lol

I can't wait to get married and start my own family but the problem is i haven't found the person yet LOL anyway hopefully in the near future soon :)
Anyway congratulations to you once again and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi there birdie816,
Congratulations on the coming baby girl, you are very lucky to be starting a family and that it is the gender you'd like, not that you wouldn't like if your kid was a boy but it is nice that you are getting your more preferred gender.
If I was to have my first born i wish that it would be a boy since i want guy as my eldest, anyway am a guy so that is my preference, but a girl would be fine as long as my kid is healthy i would be the happiest man on earth. But a few more years till that happen.
Congrats again...

Congratulations! I wanted a girl first but had a boy, and a girl second I love them the same but your right there is so many more cutesy stuff for a girl to get dressed up in.
Boys clothes are so basic not much in cutsy stuff for them but there are still some nice things.
Now that my kids are older, my boy was a troubled baby, whereas my girl was amazing now that they are in their teens the roles have switched my son is such a mommy boy and my daughter is more rebel. At least that's how my kids went.

lol that is what i am the most afraid of. i think babies will be relatively easy compared to teenagers. babies can't give you bac talk and sneak boys in your house (like i did lol) and stuff. teenagers can be scary. the worst babies will do is cry and poop lol but i know they still are challenging to take care of too

Congratulations! It's great to hear that you are pregnant and going to have a girl. How are things with you? A couple of months back, you were in a rather depressive state. Has everything been okay since then?

First congratulations. Second I understand. We didn't really care with our first baby who we did not find out what she was until birth. The next three we hoped for a boy. Just one. I have four girls. After each time we found out what we where having there was a little sadness for the "loss" of a boy but it never lasted ,long and we love our chickies more then anything in this world. . In a way it is cool to have a girl. It is ok if a girl dresses like a boy if they want to (my oldest is all about the camouflage at them moment) or they can dress in pretty sparkly clothes (my six year old's favorite) and it's ok. A boy would be ostracized for wearing sparkles. I do not know if there really is an easier when raising a boy or girl. We take our nephew whenever we can and (age five) at this point he is no more or less trouble then his cousins. Good luck and enjoy your little lady they grow up way too fast

Hi and Congrats! Bet you can't wait for that bundle of joy!
I remember when I was having my kids that Goodwill really helped me out; clothes and blankets in potentially saving me hundreds. Music? Couldn't have done it without the library or Half.com (they light up when I put on Simon and Garfunkel)! Some things I did have to get brand new such as a car seat, stroller, and crib but when you think about it, it's worth getting those brand new.
Enjoy!!!

What can I say but congratulation!!!Some says that sometimes you get exactly the opposite of what you desire in life like for me I want matured, not a mama's boy, honest and average looking with average built body but I always fall for the exact opposite or worst.Well children or babies are gift from God whatever gender it is.Im happy for you :)

Congratulations on your news. Be prepared to start feeling tired in your third trimester and always have your notes with you just in case. If you've not already packed your bag for hospital make a start on that too.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
