as said by the other friends a man who have two wives call polygamy.

mono means: one, poli means: many. If you are a poligamist it means you have more as just one wife or husband. It's forbidden in my country. So if, you end up in jail.

Poligamy stands for having more than one wife at a time. I have an interesting fact about poligamy is that mostly peoples blame Islam that Islam allows polygamy and its not fair with women's rites but when i searched about it in detail i come to know that only Islam has restricted the number of wives to 4 at a time. You can not have more than 4 wives at a time and you have to maintain them with equal justice and rites between them other wise you are not allowed. On the other hand the 2 Major religions Christianity and Hinduism does not stop you for having wives, you can have as many wives as you want, but what we seen today are the restriction by Indian Government law that stops you to marry more than one females and the modern church authorities in Christianity that does not allows you polygamy. Maybe you guys think that i am preaching Islam here but i just found it interesting so i have shared it here, I am not against any religion of the world. I am sorry if my words have hurt any one here.

But, there are countries like India where it is common that men have got several wifes and it's quite normal and legal.

I think poligamy mean having more than 1 legal partner.It's common among men.In fact,Muslims tolerate that.Muslim men can have up to 4 wives.

Hi dilrajj. Poligamy is when you have gone against the law and married more that one person. There's this one man who had been on some talk shows lately and I think it is pretty neat how him and his 3 women live. He only stays with one for a while as far as bedroom intimately. None of the three care. I mean they accept it completely and are very happy with the arrangement. I wouldn't do it as I am christian, but I can see where if you do believe in it, life could be interesting and you would never get lonely. This man seemed like a real good man and he was real sweet to all three of the women. They all cooked and did house cleaning and everything together and no one had any complaints. Anyway, to each his own, right?
