Whats the purpose of life??

Sometimes i wonder what is really one's purpose for living. Maybe i just think too much or maybe its just one thing that each person should really have an answer to. Just trying to observe other people i could say that enjoying life would already be enough for them. Did we live just to die or do we realy have some purpose being in this world? Maybe some people have an answer of their own that they belive in and maybe some are still searching for that answer. I know all people in this world have problems and i know that problems are there for us to face and test us and to make us better persons in the future. So what if we become better persons in the future? After becoming better persons we'll still die one way or the other. Some people would say that we are in this life to make us better and prepare us to enter heaven after death. Won't it be enough if we would just be living our life without doing harm to others and just minding our own? What do you think about this? What do you think is our purpose in life? Have you already found yours? Thanks for sharing guys.

i really don't know what the meaning of life is. I think life happened with a bang and people needed some one to lean against so they go themselves GOD. No, I don't believe that God made us happen out of the blue. I think we grew just like a plant and people were created. Our person in life is individual. I have realized that my reason for living is helping my daughter in raising her son.

celtic isn't our reason for being to help one other and thus make each other happier, I cannot believe we are here just for selfish reasons as somethings always told me i had to help others or I would never be happy. but perhaps its different for each one of us. I do believe in God . I guess my reason for living now is just for being on mylot and maybe helping someone occasionally as i sure have been helped here. I still worry so much about HWG as she has been gone for so long. she once told me I had given her advice that made her change her mind and not leave mylot. she was always so good to me. I miss her discussions too.Yes it does sound like that is your reason for living and its a noble one too. we all should help each other.my son does that for me too all the time.

HWG? I am an agnostic and I have alot of questions. I am happier helping my daughter and sometimes I feel selfish about it and wish I was on my own and able to do afew things I want to. But all in all it is all good. Some people just have to have God to depend on and i think that is sad. It always irritates me when I hear people say they will just give it to God as if they don't have any back bone or any pride.

The purpose of life is to live and to do stuff to the fullest. Examples Include Exercising, playing games, and watching tv.

I have a dog with a perpetual worry line on his forehead. We say this is because he is busy pondering the meaning of life as he watches the world goes by. So I went to have a word with him, in order to assist you with your research. He said woof. Does that help?

To develop yourself. To learn your lesson (your personal lesson is the problem(s) you always have to deal with in your life, the thing(s) you can not handle) or to finish something. If you did that you can go on to the next life/level. I think I know what is mine but I am not ready yet/did not finish it yet.

Being a non-religious kind of guy, I don't believe in the afterlife. I also think that there's no purpose in life, simply because life is about living and not surviving. What does that mean? That you have to enjoy your life day by day, you're not going through it just to get to something better.

Being a christian, and believing that Jesus Christ is my savior. The bible says that Jesus gave us one commandment. Love. To love one another. Jesus also said to spread the good news. That the sick are healed, the lame walk, the blind can see and Poor are hearing the good news. That would be my purpose. To share the glorious news of the creator of the heaven and earth.

Life is wonder and mystery. You never know what it will throw at you or what you will find. It has it's major ups and major downs, but you live it.

I have no purpose! I wasn't born to do anything. And since I'm going to hell why would I waste my time getting ready for heaven? If Everyone is born to do something I shouldn't have been born.

cyclopz everyone makes such a big deal about it but I always thought we were born to help one another , to care for and love'our fellow neighbors, to help others and thus help yourself. some say its just to enjoy yourself but that seems very selfish and one sided. I think my own purpose in life anyway was and is to help others and to ask for help if I need it.,I think we all have a purpose of helping others and treating them with kindness and love as w e would want to be treated. maybe I am too simplistic but this is my viewpoint and its mine to be respected as I respect allothers viewpoints.

Life is like a test. God put us here on earth to test us.If we pass that the tests(temptations, problems, & etc.) then He will reward us with everlasting life with Him in heaven. Another is to share love with one another and help those who needs a hand. That's how I understand it. :-)

I did think like you before. I do not know if there's a reason for people living in this world and I also do not know we live just to wait for the day we're going to die. But at least in this life, we try our best to reach for things we really wish to, enjoy love and being loved. We all will die some day, but at least in the end of our journey, we do not regret on things we never done or never try to achieve.

My absolute purpose in life is being happy. If we're happy we can accept everything that happens in our life without complaining. I know I still complain sometimes, but overall, I know I'm happy with my life.

i have also asked that question a time or two and i guess i have never really came up with an answer but i have a few ideas for my own life... i feel like right now my purpose in life is to take care of my grandma as much as i can and take care of my family to the best of my ability. i believe that there is a heaven and that we are suppose to live and honor god and do as his word says but i also agree with you i think it should be enough to just live and not harm anyone in our path..i guess there are a lot of people out there that their life means a lot to someone else (someone they take care of or do things for.. ex. there are doctors who heal people and hospital aids and nurses who take care of you when you are ill and there are many more people who can be named here that have a HUGE pupose in life) but at time i do wounder about the small people.i think that everyone is on this earth for a reason and each individual had their own reasons to be on earth and what their purpose in life is.. great discussion :) it really made me think for a min haha

I'm always thinking about this. The answer I've come up with is: It depends on your scale of thinking. It's such an ambiguous question that you can't answer it without narrowing it down. Examples. What's the purpose of my own personal beating heart and pulsing brain? That answer is different for everyone, whether it's obtaining happiness as stated by several people, or taking care of someone close to you as another said. Maybe taking care of someone in turn brings you happiness. Maybe being happy inspires you to help others. There's lot's of potential answers to that one. What's the purpose of unintelligent/semi-intelligent life i.e. Plants, insects, animals? To survive, mostly. It's pretty hard to find meaning in something without intelligence. Most life cycles of creatures in this category entail nothing but birth, enduring and reproducing. Here's the big one: What's the purpose of human life, that is, humanity's place in the universe in general? My answer to that is a little depressing: nothing. Humanity's existence has absolutely no purpose or function in this reality, let alone a single human life. The universe is simply too big for any single life, species or even planet to make any difference in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17jymDn0W6U I say, if you wanna find meaning in life then keep to a small scale and create your own meaning.

The purpose of life.....There is NO reason in this world, we CAN'T create "heaven on earth!" If we all strove to make this life, this world a little more like we perceive heaven...it could be just that!

As of now I can't really find my purpose here on earth while people around me degraded me so much even my relatives. Maybe I just need to fight for what is really right.

The purpose of life is to live on this earth and to experience a lot of happy, and unhappy things. It maybe troubles, trials, good events so it is the life part. And also other is that to know God the creator of us,who gives life and also to have life eternal that God gives through Jesus and to prepare while in these earth.1John 5:11,12,13.
