I intervirewed with this man in January I was to call people and set 5 appointments a day and I would be paid $15.00 an hr. working from home. The first week and really even into the second week I did real good. Then I went into a slump. the ones that I did set, he told me were real good and I have a high close ratio. He called me after hours asking again for phone numbers because he lost them. Now he is saying I breached the contract by not getting 5 a day. Now, instead of any hourly rate he will pay me 10 dollars for every appointment and now he is going to check to see how much I set. Of course, he asked me to e-mail him all of the appointments and he is going to compare it to his records. He just e-mailed me saying I lack integrety, I was unprofessional. He says he will contact me but I have a feeling I will not see one dollar.

Do you have an actual contract document that outlines that your quota is to book five appointments per day and that you will be paid $15/hour for a specified number of hours daily? Or, did you just have an oral agreement to perform this work? Also, if he is changing your compensation, did he issue a new contract?

There was no contract document. There was an e-mail welcoming me aboard, they are confident they made the right decision hiring me and reminding me that 5 appointments was mandatory. There was no aggreement how often I would get paid. There was no w2 filled out no application, now that I think of it, I don't think he has my ss number. The middle of the 2nd week he nsaid he has got to send me my money this weekend. He said he didn't believe in relying on a resume because sometimes there are misspellings so e-mail him my name and address and he will get some money out to me. He never did. Then there was a story I should have got my money,This girl is going to have to go out on her own time to give me my money. After that there were a few times I didn't get 5. But I was never told I wouldn't get paid. Now he is saying there were only two days where I got 5. My family tried to tell me he was a con man and I didn't listen.

Awww I'm sorry :( This sounds shady all the way around. On the one hand, I could understand that, if you have it in writing that 5 appointments a day is mandatory and you were not doing that, they might change your compensation... but the fact that you have been promised payment and never got it? That's sketchy. He required you to provide all of your correct personal information but it doesn't sound like he provided you with the correct details of the company - and that gives you little to no ability to pursue the money they owe you for work completed. Don't beat yourself up over it... I just wouldn't do another minute of work for someone like that... he accused you of being unprofessional but I don't see anything professional in the way he conducts his business.

Yeah that seems really bad, since you did real work for him, and now he will just get it for free.
Some people are really just cheaters, why can some people be like this there is really no reason for doing such a thing, I would suppose he could afford to pay the salary, which makes him a sleazeball.
