Went grocery shopping hungry and over spent

I went to the grocery store and had a list of items that I was going to buy. I usually shop around about the 12th of every month. I go in and see everything I want and thinking: how I would like to fix me a big juicy hamburger. Then, throwing snacks for night I end up with potatoe chips, cookies, t-bone steaks and the next thing you know. I HAVE A BIG GROCERY BILL. what did I get? nothing to last for a month because I went in HUNGRY! Have anyone experienced this? If so how many times?

Yeah I've done that too. Usually it's when I don't stick to a list that I go with the right price and what looks good. I did that a bit today and was going to get some expensive meats that were on special but then thought about it more and more that I couldn't buy the package of porkchops as that would equate to one meal when there was something else a dollar or so cheaper I could get more than on meal out of.

I make a list and keep to it. I always eat before shopping so I do not overspend. Randy is diabetic so I am always careful as to what I buy because I do not want to see his sugars go up. I always shop once a week because it is easier than doing it for a whole month. I also plan a menu and stick with it.
