If the gum has no sugar or at least less sugar it is ok. I chew gum after meals to make sure I don't get an upset stomach. It helps me burp if I need to. Over here there are gums with no sugar.Too much sugar is bad for the teeth.

No more than anything else. It is full of sugar and dyes which aren't good for us.

Sodium this or that to preserve it, some other chemicial to keep it firm, etc. It could kill us or give us cancer bad enough we wish we did.

it depends on the gum, its not good if it has alot of bad sugars in it.. as the sugar will rot the teeth.. but having a peice every now and then wont hurt, funny last night i was craving gum and i looked the whole, house over and we had none so i waited for my husband to get home he usuaky has some in the truck and i ask and just my luck he did not have any. i was so disappointed..as i was craving it really bad,, its late now and there closed but i should have got out earlier and waled to the store and got me some.. i guess i will do that tommorrow..

There is all shades of opinion about whether it is beneficial to the teeth or not. Some people said chewing gum has no definite effect on protecting the teeth, instead it does some harm to the temporomandibular joint.

I guess it is okay because it doesn't just gives us a fresh breath, it also helps us to be confident. Right? If think we have a bad breath at that moment, then we just have to secure a chewing gum. Confident in a way that you will really speak out and not afraid if you have a bad breath because you feel fresh. So it is much better than any candies because candies can ruin the teeth.

If you make a search and know if it's good for the teeth or not, most of the things you'll come to know is that "it's bad for the teeth." Yes, it is bad for the teeth because it contains chemical additives that can cause health problems. Chewing gum is not intended for the good of the teeth but is intended for the producer to make money. Health practitioners and nutritionists never endorse chewing gum as good for teeth.

Chewing gum that is not sweetened with sugar, but with artificial or substitute sweeteners is considered to be good for the teeth. It causes and increase in saliva which washes bacteria off of the teeth, and in that way it also helps promote fresh breath. In addition it is good for the brain. It makes people concentrate more. For some people it also helps reduce hunger.

there are actually some chewing gums that are being promoted to be good for our teeth and gums, my dentist even recommended some for me. Besides chewing some gums every now and then helps keep our jaw from experiencing some locking.
I guess we can use the gums sparingly especially the sugar-free ones, it can be some sort of exercise for our mouth anyway.
