Boy am I tired, havn't taken a vacation from my in job in three years, and my 34 year old body is getting tired. When I work, I feel like I'm on go slow. I'm moving slow, working slow, walking slow even my driving is slow, lolll.
I don't even feel energised to dress up for work anymore..so I don't. We've had a series staff shortages over the last few years, so I couldn't take any vacation, but this year is the year. I'll be taking a long one, and hopefully I'll be able to visit at least one caribbean island.
Ahhhhh yessss I can see it now. *snaps fingers* Well, guess I'll have to settle for the fantasy, until it beccomes a reality :)

i would love also to have a vacation but we are only allowed to have a 5-day leave. with you believe that? here in the Philippines, the mandatory leave the company must give is only 5-day sick leave. it is really hard for a working mom like me. i can only take a leave only when necessary. imagine how can i spend that 5-day leave wisely? lol. i hope i can have a quality vacation because i deserve one.

really sad but its true. while some companies will give as much as 30 leave, our company just give us 5 days. i hope they will realize and the HR department can voice it out to the management. we hard working employees deserve break also not just for sick days but for our some recreational activities as well.

wow, that's kinda rough. only 5 days??? and it's sick leave to?? no casual days?? wow, guess I shouldn't really complain considering your situation. I do hope you get some time off though, cause it sounds like you're working pretty hard

Oh! You do really need that vacation. Aside from giving yourself a little pampering after 3 years of no break from your work, it somehow gives you a fresh perspective on how to deal with the ever challenging world that we're living in. :)

Yes and boy do I need that fresh perspective, you're so right about that. Normally I can gauge a situation and assess a possible resolution to the problem, but lately I'm so confused I don't know if I'm going or coming sometimes, lolll so you said it right :)

yes. vacations are wonderful! i've only been working full time since aug of last year, but there's been several times where i've worked 7 days straight for two months at a time. i'm just a few years older than you, but i understand about getting slow. i feel myself getting slow and not having the energy to get out of bed to go to work. unfortunately, my job doesn't have staff shortages. it's just me and a weekend person (when they want to work). i work 10 hour days so that doesn't leave me a lot of time to get anything accomplished. so it's really aggravating.
i hope that you get to have your vacation this year. enjoy the warm weather and the cool waters.

We really need a vacation yearly at least, though we really can't make it due to some reasons considered. I'm happy for you, for sure you'll enjoy your much awaited vacation not a fantasy but a reality. You'll surely be inspired to work again, relaxed and recharged after spending your vacation. Good luck...

I, too, would like to take a vacation but we just can't afford one. Right now I think I'd settle for two days off.

You do sound very much like you would benefit from a vacation to a palm fringed island. If you don't have enough time for that I would recommend a weekend away on a city break. I used to go to Belgium when I felt tired and burnt out from all the teaching when I lived in Kent. Now I have kids I go on at least one overseas trip each year. On Saturday I will be off to Argentina and Chile on my next trip. Good luck with planning a vacation.

Wow you sound like a world traveller but that's great. One day I hope to be able to do what you're doing, and visit as many countries as I can. Thanks for the wishes.Safe journey to Argentina :)

We have a saying here: Taking a break is to walk a further way. Namely we shall have a break when we work so hard. You are hard working and you deserve to have a vacation. This is a reasonable requirement. I hope the employer can understand it. It is really stressful to work all the time without break.
I love China

Do they not allow you to take vacation days? Oh wait, nevermind, you answered my question in your post. . It seems as though that should be illegal - NO days off in 3 entire years?! That seems like slave labor! Anyway, hopefully you can over-compensate this year - your company OWES it to you, that's for sure!

Yes they do and big time, lolll. I'm entitled to at least two months vacation for all the time that I've not gone on any, but I won't get all of it, we're still undergoing the staff shortage issue, but I'm definitely taking it this year. I have too

I wish you luck on your vacations. I have visited Aruba several times as I have a timeshare there. That allows me to stay at a 5 star resort for a price that I can pay. Besides, it´s an apartment so I save doing part of my cooking. This year I won´t be going as I have had too many extra expenses due to chemotherapy and air fare is expensive. But maybe next year I´ll go. And I will try to get some of my money back by renting the 2 weeks I have there.

That is cruel! If I were you, I will resign. hahaha... It is ok for me if the pay is not that high. It is ok for me if I go on overtime for free but don't deprive me of my vacation 2 to 3 times a year. hahaha... But I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming vacation. You really really need it.

Having a vacation would be wonderful. In my place of work, it's vacation time. We will have a two months vacation if we don't like to work. The good thing is that we still get paid, even without choosing to work. However, with the financial standing that I'm in right now, I don't think of it as a bonus where I can spend the months in the beaches and enjoy life. I may enjoy some few days of the vacation time and really concentrate in doing my business so it becomes profitable. I believe that you too can be energized if it's your own business. When you find your passion, you will be fast, I guess.
