Do you believe in fortunetellers?

According to the Bible passage Isaiah 7:19-20, it's not right to listen or consult the fortunetellers and false prophets because they will do you no good.
Have you ever been to one before? Were they accurate about their readings regarding your past, present and future life?
I made a lot of mistakes before, I've been consulting a fortuneteller and of course she charges about $0.6 per question asked on her. She used her Tarot cards and I say she was very accurate with her readings on my past and present life. But the scary thing is that she told me that in the future, a former house helper will put a curse on me out of envy and I am prone to having breast cancer when I reach 40. The curse thing didn't happen to me (thanks to the Lord) and hopefully by the time I reach 40 I'm still cancer-free and healthy.
In my own opinion, they sometimes do that "fear tactic" on their unsuspecting clients just to milk them dry, taking their money away from them and letting them down even more, showing no concern.

I do not believe in anything that can predict my future. I believe it is only God who can tell our future. Some people spend alot of money on fortune tellers/psychics and end up dissappointed when whatever they were expecting to happens does not happens at all. It is always good to put your trust in God.

I too expected what the fortuneteller told me before that I'm going to be rich but alas, I'm still the same, still working hard to provide for my daughter's needs. I wasted my money on nothing. Learned my lesson.
I started reading the Bible and found out the said passage regarding prophets and fortunetellers and asked God for forgiveness. I've been so blind.

No, I don't believe in fortunetellers. I trust in the Lord Jesus' guidance and direction in my life. The Lord warns us to stay away from fortune tellers, tarot cards and other similar things. I believe that these things are evil and are from Satan.
Have a wonderful day!

I know a few people in real life that read tarot cards and read palms, and they have offered to do these things on me, but I have always (politely) declined. I don't really believe in it, and if it were true and they really did these things, I still wouldn't want any insight on the future. It would spoil the fun.

I am not one that believe in any of that stuff including the bible. I believe they work off our emotions. And people like fortunetellers watch our body language and read us very well. They know the questions to ask to get a reaction from us. So, it is not easy to believe anything they say.

Fortune telling is a gimmick. You are right, the Bible says not to consult with mediums and those types of people. They may have powers from the devil, or they may be able to "read" you and pick up on body language and stuff like that. They also tell things that are pretty common to all people. Stress can make you more likely to develop cancer, and fear is stress. So do not be afraid, be proactive in having a healthy life.

Noted. I never realized that fortune telling is a gimmick when I had my first reading with a fake one (while I was still a college stud). I was just influenced by a friend to try another fortuneteller twelve years after I had my first reading. I hate to admit that I'm always stressed but I always find time to relax because I don't want to feel deteriorated. Now I am sticking to healthy eating, healthy living and planning to do something outside our home like play outdoor sports or attend aerobics session.

Astrologers and fortune tellers are liars, even if believed, that what was said by God in the Bible. Sometimes be in the room for this fortune-teller assistants people to them, talking with customers and get to know them things and private information of their lives before entering the fortune-teller. So, it may appear to you that they she was very accurate with her readings on your past and present life. But the future is only known by God
I do not believe in such myths.

Regarding fortuneteller assistants, they are the people who are like "answer keys" or "informants" used by a fortuneteller as a guide to get hints regarding the customer's past and present life situation. That is called cheating.

No, I don't believe in fortune tellers. Not because the Bible advises against it, although I do believe in the Bible. God is usually right when He tells us to avoid something! Fortune tellers don't know the future, they are just good readers of people.
Sometimes I'll look at my horoscope just to entertain myself but always after the day is done. I think things like that can influence you and you'll subconsciously enable things to happen which can be very bad if it's something detrimental like an accident or getting fired. I just start every day with positive thoughts and a conviction that it will be a wonderful day and everything always turns out fine whatever happens.

Thank you for your response. You're right, when a fortuneteller tells you something that is not good, it can influence you and it will pollute your mind thinking it will happen to you for real. This is what we call the devil's work. I learned my lesson not to consult on those kind of people and dwell on the negativity of things because this is not what I want to experience while I'm alive and kicking..

I don't believe in fortunetellers. A friend used to do this as a gimmick and for earning money. She had lots of accessories that other fortunetellers would have and told me it adds up to the ambience that would make people believe that she is really a fortuneteller.

Sadly other fake ones do that just to lead people to believe that they are genuine fortunetellers. Sometimes their place look creepy and eerie.

hi there,
i don't believe in fortune tellers. some say i should try because they do, like my cousins. and then they tend to change or avoid something because the fortune teller says so. i believe that only us make our own destiny and only God can guide us. just as long as we are doing what is right and not step on other people.
we just keep our faith and pray to Him and take care of ourselves.

Hi Cherish14!
You should never believe in fortunetellers. They are not God or doctors. Just remember that the future is changeable and you can always avoid misfortunes that come your way.
Only God can direct our own future.

i know. i don't and never will.
although sometimes doctors can tell how much longer we can live but still that's because of our health problems and how long our body can endure the illness.

I'm learning Tarot card currently. For my knowledge, Tarot card never saying future that last for more than a year. The reading will only last for maximum three months. So I think sometime when we choose a fortuneteller, we really need to be careful. For me, I'm believe in it. I'm using it to know more of myself; I did really learn lessons from it. Another point I would like to mention is, this card is not about God or other nonsense soul, it's about the magnetic field we create.

I heard that some fortunetellers have this "expiration" date when it comes to their readings, meaning that they don't last for more than a year, sometimes they just last for about three to six months.

I think some people have the gift to be able to see things, I do believe we do not know a lot of what we are all really capable of..I have been to many spiritual readers and it has been proven to me that some really do have a special something, the very first lady I went to and I didn't believe in them at this stage, told me a lot of what had already happened to me with the initials of people in involved which sort of made me a believer, when I told friends of the things she told me they sais she has checked up on you but at no point did she ever ask my name so I don't see how she could have... I came out a believer...

Fortune tellers are more of people readers then anything else. Not bad for fun but I wouldn't take anything seriously. I can do it myself.
