Not medicinal tablets, I'm not sick.
I'm thinking of getting a tablet computer for reading mostly .pdf files of old books and academic papers. I don't think an e-reader is what I want because most of what I have to read is in .pdf format rather than modern e-books.
I'm not very tech savvy and they all pretty much look the same to me so I was wondering if the mylotters out there who already have tablets could tell me what I should be looking for.
I'm not into gaming and I don't need it for watching films, etc, really the main thing I am interested in is reading.
What would be best for me to get?

Well, I have a Nook Color and it's okay, but I have heard that the Nook Tablet, Kindle Fire, and the iPad are all so much better. If you don't have a lot of money, then I would go with the Nook Tablet or the Kindle Fire, but if you do have a lot of money, then I would go with the iPad.

A tablet will give you more fun. You can also read your e-mail and download apps in case of need. Pdf is no problem, also other papers you can store in pdf and read them there. Please take one with enough memory to work with. So not just 1gb it will make it all so slow. An extra SD card is good too.
