Right now i see kids talks more about American Cartoons more than anime, remember the golden age of anime, Its a time where American cartoons were almost devoured into obscurity. Now the successful aniem titles of this era can be counted by fingers. we dont have anime titles anymore that became a huge merchandise. wel, there are some successful now but they dont have the Glory Achieved by Gundam series, Dragonball and Sailormoon.
Anime use to be anti-cliche but now its becoming cliche, I am really sad that that the only titles I follow now are death note, bleach and Naruto. The other good new anime serials are just mini series. Also during the golden age, people use to talk about How cool every single anime is, now all I see are people who talks about how it sucks.
Before its easy to be proud to be an anime Otaku, now if you said you love anime you will be called a Weaboo or a Japanophile.
Is the goldenage coming back?

I know. I'm hoping for a comeback for the Japanese wave too. It seems to have been taken over by the Korean wave in my university. It's quite sad. I'm in a Japanese Club and it's really hard to recruit people into our club now. And I saw the Korean Club just left a pen and paper on their recruitment booth and they still had more people joining their club then ours.

Could be. They really are overusing the hentai and ecchi. It's very difficult for me to find an anime that has hardly any.

also majority of anime characters now are acting, abnormal.... They need to have human like and relatable characters again. They were losing diversity too.

There's a new anime called Redline (go find the trailer in youtube) it is considered a masterpiece in some way (because every action frame to frame is hand drawn)
And it's mostly action base.
If we anime fans join together to support good quality anime then maybe the goldenage might come back.
But the main problem is most otakus in Japan like those moe blob girls, ecchi, hentai
How the heck are we going to compete with them? I mean Japan cares more about their customers in their own country (Anyway most people will only care about thier own country)

I had found some decent anime recently but it has too much ecchi that I cant take it seriously anymore, I do enjoyed some anime with cute little girls on it but being flooded by moe is really annoying for sure.,I mean at least the magical girls are watchable but Moe is all bout ditzy little girls being dumb.
I miss those anime that is all about badassery with a bit of flash and depthness.

Anime nowadays suffer from 2 things: distribution and censorship. The first one is obvious, only anime that is famous enough get exported which also happens to Japanese games. The problem that this brings is that even if its a hit in Japan, it doesn't necessarily will be one in other cultures, and the opposite is also true. And while there are companies that buy the rights on anime they think will be liked, they are often changed to "fit" the culture they are being shown at, which brings up censorship. Some of those changes to fit the cultures are often censoring whole scenes, which damages the storyline. When that doesn't happen they change the core of the anime itself to make it "child friendly", as some companies see the anime as for children since its drawn. A really good example of this would be one piece. 4kids translated one piece and censored a lot of stuff, cutting important storyline pieces, or changing characters to fit that standard. It's enough to say that they made it impossible to enjoy either by kids and adults. Also some anime depend on cultural, political or social references, so exporting them is impossible. That leaves the black market and downloading, but since not many people can understand Japanese, you are left only with fansubs. These, besides the point that it's often criticized, also depend on popularity and often are centered on specific genres, or even specific series. In other words, in order to make anime huge again, the world would need to change how it looks at it. As long as they think is only for children most of it won't be distributed or if those that are will be heavily censored.

I guess Japan needs to make some of their anime less perverted if they were not meant to be Hentai. or Japan needs to design some anime meant for foreign audience. It use to be their greatest export. Now they really struggle. I also think Hentai damaged anime's image. ever since hentai existed anime became frowned upon by people.
I know there are elements in many anime titles that is just taboo for western audience. Like romance between underage teenagers and adults. or romance between cousins. they must make less of those if they wanted to have imports. I think its possible to make culture neutral stories. Its also possible to share Japanese culture without offending the west.

Well, hentai has always been around, in fact even before cameras Japanese people have been drawing explicit stuff on wood :p. However, I don't think japan is the one that should adapt to the rest of the world in order to export more, they are mostly a self-centered country and as such they tend to keep to themselves. In fact, there are even some companies blocking international internet connections from other countries, so exportation of anime it's not really something they are in a hurry to increase. On the other hand, expecting them to change what they make for others is hardly fair. It would be like asking the Mexicans to make the tequila differently because it is too strong :p.

yeah but during the anime goldenage Hentai is kind of obscure, and anime were not generalized as Hentai, I think the fall of the golden age is when Hentai got widespread in the internet.some people actually dumped anime because of it and its the reason why some anime fans were now looked down.

I don't really see this is happening in my area. I prefer anime rather than American Cartoon. Among these anime, the one I like most is 'One Piece'. The reason that I prefer anime much more is the connotation which always makes me feel so touch. American Cartoon put a lot of content in becoming a hero; which I think is lack of meaning.

I dont think a talking retarded sponge, or a Mouse doing violent stuff to a cat, some ugly cows pretending as humans while humans believes they were really humans heroic though. Those are things I cant stand with American cartoons. The only cartoons I appreciate are the Marvel ones. Anime have diversity for all ages but its so sad they were going downhill.

I would certainly hope it would come back. I only follow Bleach anymore since Naruto feels childish [not to mention the now terribly overpowered characters and amount of twists and turns in it; makes it boring after a while] and One Piece is simply too long to get into now.
It does look like a lot of them are losing their uniqueness, it's like they're trying too hard to be like other animes/mangas. Several of them look at paranormal things to somehow fit into Bleach, others try to capture the 'action' in Naruto, Dragonball and Sailor Moon yet fail horribly.
Perhaps if they went back to making anime/manga that's actually interesting and not angels vs. demons, demons vs. demons, ect. and all that is cliched in some way.
Hell, I'd like for once to see the main character 'good guy' turn bad and mess people up in some way. The whole 'goody two shoes' main character plan gets old after a while.

also another complain of mine, Aime needs to have adult protagonists again, enough of the overpowered kids and teenagers. I think Naruto is also long running as well that it surpassed Dragonball in length and my complaints on that series are the fillers.
