I noticed one of my friend's kid has terrible accident with his bike and got bad injured so that need surgery on the back of his head. I have observed his father trying hard to calm him down before surgery but failed. Then, when he passed the Ipad to him, his son sitting quietly while playing game or whatever application in Ipad.I think this not only for Ipad but any electronic gadget, Kids tend to love this stuffs and easier to attract their attention than only wisdom words from parents..what do you think about this phenomenon?

hahaha that is so true... i dont have any children yet, but ive noticed that scenario among my nieces and nephews. they would really behave when these gadgets are in their small hands. my goodness, they would do anything you ask them as long as you reward them with quality time together with the ipad. sometimes, i think it's pretty unhealthy that kids this generation are like this though...

well, I am glad you also noticed it..you are right, it really unhealthy for the kids and they get too addicted which could be dangerous for their health in the long run. .However, my friend has actually limit the Ipad usage for his kid, that's the reason his son felt so excited to play with Ipad, something that really rarely touch by him..But I have observed other parents giving up Ipad to their kids in order to not disturb their activities..appreciate your response..

Haha...I found it funny, kids loved Ipad more than their parents. It makes me think, is that really possible to happen, children can exchange their parents for gadgets? But at this generation, I am really impressed with the kids, like the kids in our house as they really understand using computers, they are so good at computer games, social networking sites, they can easily get hook to technology.

It is true that kids and adults alike tend to love electronics. I love them as well. However, when it comes to how long a child plays depends on how the child was being disciplined by the parents. My son, who is 5 years old, tends to use my iPad but with my supervision and restrictions. I make it a point that my husband and I always talk to him one on one with regards to gaming and other things. We don't deprive him of those devices and he sometimes prefer to be with us than play for countless hours. I think if the parents pay closer attention to their children, they will realize that children do want to be a part of their parents' conversation every now and then. It is okay to give the child some play time so that there is a balance in his activities. On your friend's situation, it is very understandable. Children are afraid of hospitals and it is a good idea on the father's part that he has a means for distracting and calming the child.

Yea, they are fascinated by these modern technology gadgets we have out now. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's son accident, i hope he will be OK and the surgery goes well, too. He must have been really scared of the surgery, and I'm glad someone cared enough to find him something to calm him down, that is a great father. They have been brought up in a world of technology unlike most of us old folks who only got ahold of them til later in life.
