Hi there guys, How's it going? Been a while since ive made my own discussion, anyway mine today is about my fish and his poor owner, Me. A coule of months ago precisely last year i suddenly got the urge to buy a fish since our apartment does not allow dogs. So i bought one, a blue fighting fish that i named barry. I blew some amount so that i can get the right food, rocks, and cleaning chemicals for him so that i can care for him properly. Sad situation is i only have budget for those stuff not for an erator and an aquarium. Bottom line is barry my fish is in a vase i clean it twice a week to avoid any unwated dirt since he does not require an erator (says on the web they like calm water)and the water is deep enough for him to swim down and wide enough to swim around. But then again i cant buy him a decent aquarium.

Well if I were the fish I would be very happy to have you as an owner. I can see that you did your best to provide me a decent home. I think it's okay if you don't have an aquarium yet because you only have one fish. Just change the water on the vase regularly though.

Hi there flapiz, Thanks for the comment , I really appreciate the fact that you gave an example if you were the fish, it kinda lifted my spirit up for today. Don't worry i love barry i clean him up twice a week and he is really not that messy in the first place i buy this food pellets that do not cause much dirt. Ive read a lot about barry species and besides the fact the he is in a vase i think i got every detail in taking care of him in the bag, again thanks flapiz.

Well it sounds kind of cute the way you put it. A fish in a vase. I'm glad to have lifted your spirit for today. Hehehe. Have a nice day. :)

I admire you for being a lover of fish which is I think a good hobby. Buying your own fish to take care is a better choice than others who just do nothing for their whole life but to enjoy themselves. I think that as long as your fish is safe and given the proper treatment from you, his lover, it's not a big concern. When you have the budget, you can always buy an acquarium where your loving fish will stay to be safe.

HI there G is G, God is great aint he my friend? Well thank you for that i know it is an indirect compliment so thank you, my friend i am developing this sort of relationship with my fish, even though I only have one and it seems lonely I think that I am happy with him just being by his lonesome. Because that is how I am i like just being by myself and jsut learning more about me everyday and just try to change it one bit at a time. One day when i have the money I'll go get him an aquarium, big enough for him to swim around.

Dear friend, I could see that how much you care on your fish. Moroever if there are other pets they could even harm that fish, especially cats. Anyhow may be you cout see your most often. Hope you will soon get a right acquarium for that blue fighter. When I was a child I too used to keep fishes, at that time I had a small acquarium, most of fishes were golden fishes, golden and black angels. I feel it is passion for many....

Hi there shamrack, Thanks for commenting, I feel sad for my fish to be living in such tight quarters although if you come to think about it, i bought him living in a small jar practically just a third of my vase so i guess he moved into a much better space, but I'll buy him an aquarium before he month ends i hate seeing him in the vase.

It is said that fish live longer in an aquarium. However, Beta fish live a perfectly long life in a bowl if well cared for. I had a red Beta fish when I was a kid and I recall it living long. It was in a vase. Beta fish are known for their decent life spans. They're intelligent fish too. They don't get along with other fish though. They are pretty easy to care for. You're doing good changing his water twice a week, since thats the recommended ammount. Also, when you change his water allow the water to sit there over night that you plan to put him in so the tempiture gets nice. Thats should be your main focis, the temp of the water. There may be something you can buy to help keep the water in the vase warm. If you get an aquarium, you can't just put your one fish in it, you'd need to buy a Beta fish seperater and other fish which would be very expensive. Just stick with the vase. Thats where beta fish are meant to be ussually unless its in a seperater in a tank. Betas are hard to care for, as long as you put time into it I think he'll be happy.

im sure barry will be just fine in his home, as it sounds like you take good care of him, maybe one day soon before you know it you will have the extra money to buy him the aquariaum you want.. just hang in there mean time and try to save up as much as you can and put it away and then you will maybe save enough to buy it.. if you start saving now you will have the money before you know it. good luck with barry..

Don't worry. In time you will be able to buy the perfect home for your pet. We used to have a large aquarium for our pet fishes but had to let go of it when we transferred. It was so cumbersome to be bringing the aquarium since it was heavy so we donated the fishes to a bank that has a nice pond with fishes in it and we just left the aquarium in the house where we used to live. But that was several years ago I am sure the next occupants got rid of it already.

Hi bro, I don't think you have financial problems. I mean you are a son of a rich father, right? You can have what you want. Where is your dad now, bro? We haven't talked for ages, have we? I mean you disappered recently, but I know you must be busy.

or, I think you are a nature-loving man. You treat your little fish so gentlely, caring it like your own kid. so lovely. you are not poor, but full of love in your heart. you will get a decent aquarium for him before long, I believe.
