Hi friends !
Few days back I read a post about mystery shopping. When I started searching for that , I landed up in online mystery shopping.
Is is legit about online mystery shopping companies. Have anyone tried online mystery shopping ? What is your experience and what are the legit companies which can be tried by beginners ? Anything special for Indians ?
Do a shopper need any special certificate to become a mystery shopper.

I used to do this years ago. I signed up to three good companies. The good thing about it if you love shopping (I didn't! I was just in it for the money!) is you get to keep the product(s) & the company reimburses you for it/them! If you don't use them yourself, you can always give them away or sell them online, etc. You also get paid anywhere between $10 per job up to hundreds of dollars per job to tell a company how lousy their product is, how terrible the customer service is, how horrible their establishment is & that you'd never go there again! The more detail you go into, the more time you spend on your online report & the more reliable you are, the more jobs you'll get & more frequently too. One bit of advice; you need a good memory for details like exact times, names, etc or else carry a notebook that nobody can see you write in. You also need to be prepared to lie through your teeth, because if any service personnel ever get the suspicion you are from a mystery shopping company - you are fired instantly and banned from signing up to any other mystery shopping company in the country!
All the Best.

If I understand correctly, you want to do a mystery shop online. I have done mystery shops for years, but have never done an online mystery shop. There are real mystery shopping companies, some require certification, which you can earn online. If a company asks you for money, or sends a huge check in advance to you, they are scams, stay far away from them.

I have shopped grocery stores and fast food restaurants and sit down restaurants. You must be able to pay for your purchases up front and wait to be reimbursed.

Bare international is a good mystery shopping website for Indians. Also Onion Insights are a good site, but they send every shopping invite to everyone. (I got a mystery audit for a restaurant that's not in my city.)
Bare international are insisting for MSPA Certification (Mystery Shopping Providers Association).
I have become member of Onion Insights, but haven't taken any audit so far. My friend has participated in few mystery shopping. (Some times we get invitations for audit at a Pizza corner. What a delicious deal!!! )

I just need to warn you on this one, not every mystery shopper job is legit. Some of them simply scam, and you just couldn't tell which one is legit and which one is a scam. I personally have this impulse to apply for one before, but after read some many personal experience from other online members, I just back off from it. So, you might need to do more research on this field first before you can get your hand on it.

Yes, I do read many forums where the shoppers complain about delayed or no payment. Will surely do a research before starting it.

hi i agree yes, you need to check if its true or no since they ask you to buy things later, so if yo a trusted site let us know, i like to go for shopping but i dont like when they tell me that i have to buy something for that works its waste of money, so i do not do that type of work, they uaually check the staff how they work so why do we have to pay for things and they do not provide us with money to that.

It does exist but if you want to find one you must be careful to get the legit one because there are so many scam mystery shopper. Mystery shopper can not be done online, you can register online and pick the project but you have to go to the actual store and shopping or do the job as they asked to get the job done. Mystery shopper that tell you big money pay most of them are scam so again be careful and good luck.
