ok, this is classic and an epic question., but i was pretty interested with it when i heard my friend say: 'if i had the choice, i would pick beauty... because we can do something about the brain by studying. it's simpler and cheaper than plastic surgery' hahahaha she's right on that but what about you? beauty? brains?

hello friend, if i have a chance, i love to have brain because if you have a beauty and youre so idiot nonsense to others to appreciate your beauty but if you are bright and have m0re ideas maybe you have a chance to become rich.

I prefer brains too because if I have brains, of course I can find a way to look beautiful. And I don't think you can be brainy by just studying.

Brains are more important to me.Beauty is useless if you have no brains.

I'd pick beauty. I have brains and I find beautiful people without brains going farther in life than non beautiful people with brains. People actually judge the beautiful stupid people as smarter than the braniac ugly people.

Brains absolutely without a shadow of a doubt. Granted beauty can get you noticed, but when you really think about it, your looks will only get you so far when you are about as dumb as a post. Which not all good looking people are but there are just some people who decide to look good and really are not going to be something that is going to be productive to them or their lives. It is just the nature of life. Brains can get you out of some tight situations politically speaking. There are times where a little brain power is about all you need to succeed in the world, more or less. There just are times where I think that if I had not been able to use my brains, it would have been the end. Just plain and simple, bottom line and the end is not going to be rather fun. It is going to be harsh and kind of wicked to say the very least.

I would pick brains, I'm not pretty, my looks is just average but I would still choose brains. Often people judge you by how you speak and how you express your thoughts and opinions on several topics. I noticed that people tend to like you and admire you more if you are intellectual. I've seen pretty women who are being mocked in social places for being dumb... there are several that I've watched on youtube, and have become the laughing-stock of many people.

i'll definitely pick brain over beauty. like you mentioned, you can enhance beauty by going for plastic surgery. however, unlike what your friend said, you can't enhance your brain by studying. you just get knowledge by studying, but how smart you are is something you are born with. no one can score better in an IQ test just by going to school. we have children who has never gone to school scoring higher in an IQ test than a college student. in short, your IQ is determined when you are born. there is nothing that you can do/eat/work hard to make it higher.

I hope this post does not get deleted as it sounds a lot like a poll to me. But to answer your question, I want both. Your friend is not right though. It´s easier to have a plastic surgeon do a makeover on your face and body than to learn if you are dumb, no matter how much you try

a pleasant day to you jd107nette, well, if i will be asked to choose between the two, i rather to choose beauty. hence, i have the beauty, people who looks at me will think i am a clever. because in this world that we live in, generally people are judgmental, they are judging people according to the way they look. they initially think that the person is smart if she is beautiful. aside from what i have written above, if i will be beautiful, for sure, many people will offer to help me to learn many things, as the general people are very fun to teach others with beautiful faces.

Hahahaha! you're friend is right! Some of my friends tell me the same thing too and they even answer me that "everybody has brain but not everybody has beauty!" this s some kind of crazy answers hey told me. But for me brain is more important to understand the true meaning of beauty, and life as well.

Why can't a person have both beauty and brains? I would prefer brains but then again I am a woman and most men are very visual and go for looks first, I think.

actually this two is very important in our lives most especially for the girls who always look in the mirror. we used our brain and we used our beauty to attract someone. its not a problem when one of this characteristics is missed because the most important thing in here is at least one exist. nowadays we can encounter many women without beauty and brain but they use their attitude to attract someone like being kind and thoughtful to others and most especially for the one we love.

people really has different views on things.. in my case, i would rather choose brains than beauty, because honestly, i am happy and contented with what i have and how i look now.. i never mind people saying I'm ugly or what, for what matters most to me is myself and how i was made by God. what will i do with a so pretty face and splendid body if i don't have a mind that understands things? that's why, i believed in the sayings, "BEAUTY is on the EYE of the BEHOLDER" and "What is BEAUTY if the BRAIN is EMPTY." :)

Studying doesn't really make you clever. Clever people are the ones who pass all their exams without having to spend hours studying. I'm a teacher, and I have had students that work really, really hard and still get nowhere. Others do almost nothing and yet are very successful - they are the clever ones. I'd definitely choose brains over beauty. I have to live with myself and I use my brain all day every day. I don't sit gazing at myself in the mirror all day, so what my face looks like is not nearly as important. Anyway, it's easy to make yourself look attractive with the right hair, clothes and perhaps a bit of make up.

It depends on the kind of brains I guess. I consider myself smart. I am always warning my husband and children to not do certain things and they go ahead and do it and I have to give them the old "I told you so." So being smart doesn't necessarily mean people will listen to you. On the other hand, I am stupid when it comes to my maturity in situations. I don't handle things well when they don't go my way. That's not very smart. So you can see why I am conflicted. Beauty is only skin deep. I would rather be beautiful on the inside, and if I was smart and beautiful on the inside I would know how to make myself look beautiful on the outside.

For me, it's brain than beauty. I agree with your points about brain against beauty. However, if I had the brain then most probably I get rich. Then, with that, I can use the money I have to make myself beautiful.

I wanna have a brain, a brilliant brain actually. No matter how beautiful we are but if we easy too fooling around that's mean nothing. Beside that beauty can create by any treatment or maybe we can go to saloon as frequently as possible. That's can make us beautiful. Brain can not be change because it's potential and bless..,

If I had to chose just one, I would have to choose brains. I'm not the smartest or the prettiest girl in the world by any means, but I have a nice combination of both qualities. I go to the bar with my buds and I see a lot of the all beauty/no brains type of girls. (I also see a lot of the no beauty/no brains, drinking themselves to oblivion type, but that's a whole other topic). These gorgeous girls never have anything interesting to say, they get confused frequently, and people get bored after talking to them for about five seconds. You can't have an intellectual conversation with these broads. (In my head they only ever say "Like, totally, oh my God, shut up!"). The men you'd usually see talking to these girls are the ones who probably don't have a brain much larger than their teeny weeny and are only interested in said girls for one reason (ahem). Men, real men, prefer a woman who can keep up with them intellectually. Beauty is the new brains. Same is true in reverse (for me anyway). I prefer smarts over looks in men. Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one person thinks is ugly is actually beautiful to another person. And don't forget the fact that looks fade. Once they do and you never had brains, what are you left with? So back to the question at hand... I would choose brains over beauty any day. (Thank goodness I was blessed with both) ;)

Well, according to Sherlock, brainy is the new sexy. He's right. There's only so much you can do with looking at a pretty picture without having to know or learn what's behind the pretty facade.
