I read of a 16year old teenager whho committed suicide after she was forced to mary a man who was convicted of raping her.Now according to the report in Morroco it is a part of the law for the accused to be forcefully married to the victim of rape now what do you think of this type of law?i personally think this is bizzare and such a law is supposed to scrapped and rightly the situation has sparked off a series of protest in Morrocco the girl was buried on sunday such an unfortunate incident

I would not dare try to say my point of view as to how law is in Morocco. I have never been there, I donĀ“t belong to their culture. I have seen in this same site that some happily married friends were married by their parents who arranget it all. That is not used in my culture, but it does not mean that ours is better than theirs.

I think that is disgusting, and should be stopped, people should stay out of the lives of other people, the law and even parents have no right to force anyone to marry anyone, we are all given one life to live and we all should be allowed to live it the way we want, we all should be allowed to experience the most wonderful gift to us all...love.

hi byola the more I read about Morocco the more I am glad I was not born or raised there.their laws are sadistic and women are treated like dirt, I am not surprised at any of their laws. Its strictly a man's world there. making her marry the man who raped her is sick
and cruel but then those moroccans have much different views of things than most people have,
Such a law should be scrapped but a land where thieves are caught and have their hands cut off what c an you expect?. A good place to stay out of. Unfortunate is mild for what it was, cruel, sadistic, outlandish, immoral a lot of words can come
to my mind.

I think this law it totally wrong and against the wishes of the rape victim, how would the law maker like it if they were raped and the rapist had to married to them? I mean, how horrendous of thinking is this. Just backwards. I feel so bad for that teenager, this is a case of where the law is so corrupt it can't see past it's own corruptness. Do they believe the victim actually caused the rape for some silly reason? Just crazy. I can't believe in this day and age some people somewhere still do these things that are obvious not right, morally. I don't blame them for protesting, something has to be done and this is the only way they can start on doing something, as far as it probably still won't get them, unfortunately.
