Now what now????? Filmmaker of the KONY 2012 documentary, a project meant to popularise the alledged attrocities committed by a man called KONY, was arrested for "public display of his privates", vandalism and intoxication. The situation wouldn't have been bad so if this campaign didn't receive 80 million hits on youtube, the support of many worldwide (especially young people) and the support of bigwigs like Oprah,Rihanna,P Diddy and others. This arrest is going to discredit all the work done, as well disappoint the "followers" of the call to make famous a man charged with the imprisonment, muder and rape of "the invisible children" in Uganda. Well, he's certainly given his critics lots to talk about and not in a positive way. So,so sad.

What's sad is that people equate the person with the work. Kony still needs to be stopped, no matter what has happened to those who brought this to our attention.

This will be caught up in a media storm for a few days. The people who already thought the Kony issue was fake will certainly point this out, which will rob the issue of the support it needs - but those people were likely not to support it anyway. Rumour was he was extremely drunk, his newfound fame having gotten to him.

Yes, you've indeed raised a valid point. People are already questioining the validity of the claims made by the filmmaker, and it will indeed "rob the issue of the support it needs". Thank you, couldn't have said it better myself.

I never said no, and the filmmaker isn't a saint none of us are. But it's just like when people discredit the message of a priest because he's found to be a pedophile, he's lost RESPECT and CREDIBILITY for whatever foundation he has laid. Like it or not to some extent people are equated with their work, especially if they're the ones who started it. Like it or not when a man does something good like what this film maker did, no one expects, especially his son that he had on the film, to hear he got arrested for m@sturb@ting in public. It might be sad, but this is the real world, this is human nature. I'm not saying KONY doesn't need to be caught, but with this news who do you think people are gonna place focus on now????

What a pity. Was it actually proven, or is this just a means to discredit him?

There were many eye witnesses.

It's a shame that people who do seemingly selfless work find ways to destroy their hard work. And not just theirs, but the thousands of others who put such an effort into it.

It's the young people who stood behind this man and his sweet sweet little boy that I feel most sorry for.

Actually he was placed on mental hold he suffered a acute mental break down and was placed in a hospital. He suffered what mental health professionals call reactive psychosis so he basically went a little crazy due to a high level of stress being added to hie life from having a video go viral. He wasn't arrested for anything. The police placed him on a 2150 hold If i am remembering the code correctly for california and not another state or completely different code. It basically means they are placing him on a hold because he could be a danger to himself or others from his mental health state. Basically form eye witnesses he was yelling incoherently and pounding his fist on the side walk. This can happen to people and anyone that reads up on it will understand that it was a mental breakdown and that he wasn't arrested but placed on a mental health hold by the state due to a mental break down and is now in a hospital where they will make sure that he is back to normal before he is released.

I think that video should not post because it will encourage those terrorist to make more action against innocent people. It seems that their actions is good and proud of themselves to killed someone else they want
