Interesting day...

So, most of you know that I do home health and my client is another myLotter under the name of Maggiepie. I got to work today and had to park WAY away from her apartment. In the middle of the parking lot was a white truck or SUV with a woman sitting in it. Walking between a car and the truck was a man with a bright, florescent type jacket with reflective tape on it. I walked past them, and then after I turned into the area that leads to Maggie's door, I spotted what looked like a DVD case. Under it, with just a corner sticking out was the distinctive color/pattern of a Social Security Card. They were both sitting on the stairs to the second floor apartments. I pulled the card out and looked at it, I then looked at the two people, who were paying no attention to me. Not wanting to leave the items on the staircase, I picked them up and carried them into Maggie's apartment with me. I woke her up and suggested she call the office about the items. I then starting cleaning up the cooler from the night before when I heard, from outside the sound of a woman crying/screaming. Now, this wasn't the fear type scream, it was more like a cry of pain, either physical or emotional. I looked out the window and wondered if I should offer to call 911 for them, but the man was with her, and I had heard them speaking some language I didn't know - Maggie's complex has people from all over the world, speaking all kinds of languages. I decided that if they needed help, they had seen where I had gone - I went back and started making Maggie's breakfast. By the time I was done, they were gone. Later I went out and went shopping for Maggie, when I got back, there was a police car in the parking lot and a police man taking photos with a little digital camera. There was another uniformed officer in the cruiser. I asked if there was a problem, and he asked me if I lived there. I replied, "No, my client lives there," and pointed at Maggie's apartment. "But I don't think she heard anything, because she didn't say anything to me." "I may come in and ask her a few questions," he told me. I went in with the first two of the bags of groceries I got. When I went out again, I told him about finding the case with 4 CDs or DVDs in it and the Social Security Card. I then told him I had taken them to the office. At that point he took down my name, address and phone number. As I was going in with the second load, he had caught the man from across the hall from Maggie's who had seen more than I had. The police never visited Maggie and I haven't had a phone call, so I guess its as resolved as I'm ever going to know. Now, last week at least 3 cars were broken into, and when I went out even later, I noticed that a window on this car was broken. So, that was my interesting day... how about yours?

wow that was strange, i hope they caught who ever it was who broke into the cars, i was expecting you to say that someone had been hurt or attacked when you heard that scream, my day hasn't really gotten to a start yet it's still early afternoon and nothing much is happening here, but at weekends it's always very quiet

My goodness it all sounds like a very curious and scary day! I would be very curious to know what all went on, are there any gossipers in that building that might come by and have a little chat? I am just glad you and her were both safe. I didn't have much of an interesting day to be honest, I woke up yesterday, got called in to work, worked, came home, and that's about it.

If they gossip, they are probably doing it in some language I don't speak!

Yesterday was such a lovely day weather-wise that I cleaned up the front yard, even though it kills me to do any kind of bending or lifting work. A lot of people probably woke up this morning surprised to find they were susnburnt. Especially as it's quite foggy right now and now it's not supposed to be as warm today as was first forecast yesterday. St. Patrick always has a surprise for us weather-wise.

That's very strange. Usually you can put the facts together and come up with a valid theory of what happened but I can't with this situation. It's disturbing that there is crime of this nature around Maggie's place and I hope they don't progress to breaking into apartments. Does she have pepper spray or other defense close at hand? I keep it by my bed upstairs and wherever I am downstairs, just in case. I did not have such an interesting day. I packed things for my move this summer, threw some things away and added another bag to the stuff I'm taking to Goodwill.

I was thinking the same thing. The story was getting so good I was looking for a closure of what really happened and why you found those items and why the women was screaming. One store led into the other and there was no ending. It was good story line to start a good book.

My day was not as exciting as yours! That is for sure! I did some much needed spring cleaning, spent to much time on the computer, ran some errands and did a load of laundry. On my way to do errands I drove past two cop cars,on the side of the street,by the neighborhood across the street where I live. Didn't know what was going on. I live in a bad neighbor and crime is up in the city I live in! Nothing unusual! Had to stop at the bank and while i got out of the car I see a man on a Harley not wearing a helmet (which is legal here) and smoking a pipe! Never seen that before! Then after stopping at Walmart I went home and did my spring cleaning. That was my day!

Wow! That was an interesting day! Did they ever figure out who the DVD case belonged to? I wonder if the man had done something to the woman that made her scream since you couldn't understand the language they were speaking. I hope everything worked out ok in that situation. Have a great weekend!!!

That's the story of my life... You know, some people seem to live like everything around them is just a set for the "play" of their lives, I don't believe that myself - I believe that everyone's life is their own leading role in their own play and the rest of us are just walk on roles that maybe don't even have speaking parts.

What a day! What a day! Well, I was at Mom's. I cooked her some turnips, black eyed peas and corn on the cob. She has a very limited diet so everything has to be cooked so so. I helped her take a shower. Cleaned her house some. We sat in the yard in the sun. It was beautiful out. Very nice peaceful day. Thank you for asking.

Glad she has you to cook for her, if you cooked that stuff from scratch I'd probably be pretty much up the creek, I might be able to figure that stuff out, but I don't know (cooking corn is always a trial for me anyway - I'm so allergic to it!)

You are allergic to corn? Oh no! You can't eat popcorn? That would be awful for me. I have to have it every night! Oh and the turnips were fresh out of the garden and the corn from the produce department, so yes from scratch but it's very easy to cook either of them. You just bring water to a boil and then simmer like potatoes until they are the desired soft you want and season while they are simmering the last few minutes. Corn is the same. You just boil water, drop in corn and then simmer a few minutes. Try it. The turnips anyway.

That's a pretty dangerous area she live in in. There's a lot happened there. As for me, my day is the same as yesterday. You can say I live a boring normal live. Almost nothing happen here nor to me.

On the whole its not the worst area she could live in, I think the apartments need to have more security patrols at night, and they may have to do that for a while anyway.

That definitely sounds like an interesting day! I would have been curious and would have liked to know more about what happened. I probably would have asked more questions of the police ... just out of curiosity ... about what had happened, although they probably would not have told me anything more than they told you. I wonder whether or not the Social Security card and CDs/DVDs had anything to do with what happened.

How on EARTH did that happen? I suspect that if we had cords on our windows (no blinds, no pull curtains) our OTHER roommate's stupid dog would find a way to do that - she thinks she's a mountain goat!

I ride around on a mobility scooter, and Milly always rides behind me on the seat. I tend to attach her to a leash for security, so the other day she slipped, and in the 10 seconds it took for me to realise she wasn't behind me, she was hanging from the back of the scooter by her collar! Milly wasn't the worse for wear, but my nerves were shot to hell for the rest of the night I was that upset! From now on, she wears a harness!!

Thank you... Actually, I seldom feel unsafe anywhere. I actually kind of consider myself the worst thing most people are going to meet. Not because I'm a bad person, but I may look small and "helpless" but there's one thing I'm not - and that's afraid. If you aren't afraid of getting hurt, you can inflict a WHOLE lot of damage on someone.

Oh my! That's way more exciting to see! Not as involved (and that was so little anyway as mine) but STILL! I've seen the aftermath of accidents, but never actually seen a pedestrian hit.

they seem to be doing this in the middle of the night, not when people are wandering around during the day - and there are a LOT of people who just hang out in the parking lot, or are doing their laundry across the lot from Maggie's place.

After work,I went swimming in the afternoon, when I went there,I was annoyed because there were many people. When it was near closing time, people started leaving one by one.At 6pm,the night swimming opened but I got to dip earlier because I'm very influential in that city. :)

putting all that together. i would say, possibley the lady in the car was being questioned about break ins and they were checking out her car. the people on the stairs may have been someone who knew her that was upset and concerned. or the lady in the car had been done something to by the theives? maybe what you found was part of the boody they had accidently dropped. just trying to figure it out. we need Psych. ever watched that show on tv where a guy figures out whats going on with crimes? its funny and he has a perfect memory.

I've seen that show once or twice... Now, I rather suspect that the lady might've owned the car that was broken into and was so upset about it. I suspect she might've been so upset she went to the hospital, since they seemed to know what color dress she was wearing, I never saw it because the man was standing in front of her. The police didn't have the lady with them when I saw them. I do think that maybe the stuff on the stairs was stuff they might've left - kind of them to leave the Social Security card because, as the roomie said, I could've used it for identity theft...

My goodness your day was interesting indeed also a bit scary cries of pain or emotional discomfort lost social security cards and police questioning, woe sounds kinda creepy I hope nothing serious happened with your clients neighbors, you said the police has not contacted you one can only assume everything turned out ok Well this is the first time I'm glad my day was uneventful and plain boring, I crave new experiences and excitement most of the time, but not the kind described in your post, because it sounds like something unpleasant happened in your client's building.
