There are a few tips I can give you:- Make sure never to touch your piercing with dirty or unwashed hands, certainly not in the first few weeks. Your piercing is an open wound at first and can easily get infected.
- When washing your body/face on the place where the body is, make sure you have a soap like sanex; there is no 'soap' in there, and no perfume that can hurt your piercing.
- If you have a ring (barbell) turn it around a couple of times when you are washing/cleaning your piercing. First wash off any scabs and do not start twisting it before hand, you might get scab splinters (yeah, it sounds odd but it happens!) in the wound and you won't be happy... If you have a bar move it up and down gently.
- Wear clothing you don't have to put over your head or has a wide neck, I got stuck with my eyebrow piercing when undressing once and it hurts like... well, it hurts a whole lot; so make sure you are used to having that thing around there before wearing tight clothes (pulling them the right way and wider has to become routine first ;)
- Make sure you don't see your barbell through your skin, if this happens in the first few weeks it's growing out! This can happen. Best to take it out before it grows out, because that will leave a scar. You can have it repierced when it's cured (preferbly NOT the same spot! It will most likely grow out again).
- Don't change the barbell the first 6/8 weeks.
Hope that helps!!!
All the best :)

I agree with the person above! It sounds about right. Sounds like what my piercer told me. :)
