Avocado is not very common as it only grows on sub-tropical and tropical areas.
As I was looking for fruits that I like to eat, I was also looking what health benefits they have. Then there was these things that I've read in a book...an avocado can be used as medicine.
It's oil is treatment against rheumatism and is an anti-dandruff medicine. An avocado can also help against urinal flow problems using the infusion of it's leaves. There were other medicinal uses mentioned as well. Like it promotes menstrual flow, strengthens the gums, relieves toothaches and more.
If you are curious where I got this, the book I was referring to was entitle Amazing Healing Plants by J C Kurian. Hope this helps.

Avocados are also a great source of potassium. I was told that I had to eat a potassium infused fruit or vegetable after I was found to have dangerous low levels. I am not a fan of bananas, so avocados it was! Great to eat on sandwiches instead of having mayo, (a lot healthier for you too), and of course always great as guacamole as well!

Yes they have alot of beneficial substances in them and are said to be have great healthful benefits to one's diet. I keep pondering in the grocery store if I should actually break down and buy one to put on a sandwhich first to see if I like the taste. There are plenty of other ways it can be used too, I just have too find them. Some of those health problems I don't need help with though so that will make me hesitant to use it very often.

It's true that avocado contributes to our health because it's a source of essential fatty acids that our system needs and it's a source of amino acids.
Some people think of it as a vegetable but it's actually a very healthy fruit.
