i am angry because i love chocolate, but i can't really eat it that much anymore. whenever i eat chocolate i seem to get terrible heartburn these days. that goes for alot of things, but chocolate probably gives me the worst heartburn. hmmm...maybe i will be able to maintain a healthy weight if i eliminate or cut back on chocolate (at least until after i have my baby). i guess that will make up for it

awww too bad because you are experiencing this while you eat chocolates. you are supposed to be enjoying it because you love it so much but then it gives you some pain hehehe sigh
i think it is best for you to just avoid it and just wait for your baby to come out so you are not in pain and so the baby doesn't feel any discomfort too.
take care

I shouldn't eat it much either. For one, it has to many calories that just pile on the fat on the body and the other thing is well I'm actually sensitive to it as it makes my eczema flare up sometimes depending on the stress in my life and how my immune system is following up. I have ate a small hollow bear the other week and wow did I feel so guilty. I must have gained a half of pound by doing that. I forgot to do any excesizing afterward.

it was just the pregnancy. when you are pregnant practically everything makes you sick or gives you heartburn (or at least that is what happened to me)

When you are carrying extra weight, like with a baby, the acid in your stomach can get pushed up your esophagus. I find for me that the combination of fat and sugar, like in chocolate is the worst. I relieve it by eating fresh pineapple.

haha! it's funny because when you mentioned pineapple you reminded me of when i was 9 months pregnant and i was trying to "encourage" labor lol. they claimed fresh pineapple was supposed to help with that. it didnt. i ended up a week overdue, got induced and then had a c section. i wouldn't recommend pineapple for that lol

I am not a nutritionist, so my opinion is just a personal insight. Many people love chocolate (including myself), but I know that if abused, it can also harm your health. The food must be balanced and controlled. Frankly speaking I never heard of that chocolate coming face a pounding heart, maybe your body does not tolerate. However you need determine how much you eat. You could ask a nutrition expert this problem, to understand why when you eat chocolate you happen tachycardia.
This is just my opinion.

I am so sorry that you get heartburns after you eat something you love! :( I love fried chicken a lot and would be so disappointed if I get some issues like that and if I had to stop eating them :(
Anyway I think you can eat a piece or two once in a while and maybe that'll be ok.

I think most probably it is due to indigestion. I would suggest you to try different chocolates like white chocolates, brown chocolates and try to find out which one is comfortable for you. Also I would suggest you to eat chocolates when you are hungry and not to eat anything before two to three hours before eating chocolates. Most times it is when we are full with food that we get a little heartburn as far as my knowledge. I think chocolates contains lots of calories than any other food.

Chocolate is loaded with theobromine which is found in like sources like cocoa, coffee and tea. This compound is responsible for relaxing the lower esophageal sphincter muscle which stops stomach acids from getting into the esophagus and throat. That is why you will feel a burning sensation underneath your stomach.
