How can you believe in God when you still doubt..

I have a neighbor who is always talking to me about how much she believes in God but she always has doubt after she tells me the situation. She is one of those individuals I want to just say hi to and run away. I always seem to get stuck listening to all her issues. The issues are always so complex that one issues runs into the next and I can't stay focus on the issue she started. I don't want to hurt her feelings and interrupt. She has made some suicide attempts due to her ex husband mentally and physically abusing her and I am always bringing up the importance of prayer and that I will pray for her. I do offer if she needs someone to talk to but I am running out of things to encourage her with. Is there something uplifting I am forgetting to tell her to do or encouraging I have not mentioned to her? Why is she doubting?
