I have a couple of friends that I always buy Easter Eggs for, they are in their twenties and are having trouble with losing weight, they are trying so hard but are struggling so what do I do with Easter as far as buying them eggs, I will not be helping them by giving them Easter eggs so what else can I do....

You could always get them flowers. They are pretty, appropriate to the holiday, and if they insist on eating them they provide good roughage.

Get them Easter Lillies instead. Or a fruit basket, that's healthy.

I don't know If it is your custom to buy them Easter Eggs. They say that now some people substitute plastic eggs filled with something for real dyed or painted chicken eggs.

If I were you, I would buy them chocolate. Buy dark chocolate (not too dark, or else it tastes absolutely horrible) and make sure it is a smaller portion. Make sure that it is not too small. I myself have trouble with weight and it would only serve to make it that much worse if I were given nothing (or something "healthy") in front of multiple people. Of course, that only applies if you get together with multiple friends and these friends who are having trouble with weight are among them. So just play it safe and get everyone you know dark chocolate (or whatever you are getting these friends), or else it might just end up hurting them if you treat them differently than everyone else. But of course, everyone is different.

Well i was thinking that maybe you could just color some regular eggs and put then into a basket eith some easter grass. Then get a bag of small candy and just put like 2 or 3 small pieces of candy. But you do not have to put the candy in the basket. You could always just give them the colored eggs and then give them some flowers that would also be really nice. Or you could always just get them an everydsy item like clothes or something to that nature and put it into a easter bag and that will be a hole lot better then food at all.

I eat heaps of chocolate and I've lost 12 kilos. I think if a person is active they can eat what they like. Otherwise, see what is available. Maybe a hand painted egg or bunny earrings...just a card maybe. Pop into Crazy Clarke's and see what is available.

Good day lilaclady, There are a couple things I can think of that you can do. One is to make them real easter eggs and decorate them yourself. Try to think of something unique about each friend and decorate them approperitly. Or just paint their names on them. Another thing you could do is buy them a stuffed easter bunny toy, a plush stuff animal and they can keep it forever. Some of them are cheaper than buying a chocolate easter bunny. I always give a stuffed toy to my 28 year old daughter and she still has them from years ago to today. I will be getting her another one this year. Happy mylotting my friend, Chris

I wouldn't buy them the big, fluffy marshmallow type stuff. I would get some of those hummingbird egg candies. Almost hard candy and tiny in size. I think these would be alot less calory wise than the other. I would also stay away from the sugar free type of stuff unless you have done your research and know the healthier type sugars. I recently did an article on the different sweeteners and some are pretty scarey.

I usually put together little Easter baskets for my closest with things that are particular for them. CD's, lotions, and maybe nail polish might be some ideas for you friends. I like to do that for my girls since they are out of that easter egg coloring thing now.

I think a pretty Easter fruit basket would be real nice with the colored celephane wrapped around the basket. Those can be so pretty with the yellow blue green or red paper wrap and then you can see the pretty healthy fruit inside.

Oh, by the way, on television last night they were showing these beautiful fruit baskets where the fruits were already sliced and some were on sticks and made in different shapes like stars and circles and they were arranged like you would arrange flowers. Really beautiful baskets! They are ordered from florists.

You might consider giving them a trinket of Easter like a ceramic egg or something to that nature the can cherish instead and remember you by. I know what they are going through with the weight issues, I have been there and it is hard to loose it after age 40 I'll tell ya.

Find something else to give them. I'm sure that those eggs aren't the only things that'll make them happy. Maybe you can find some nice painted eggs, or a living rabbit. You can maybe find a wooden egg or a wooden rabbit.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to replace Easter eggs with some thing that is not fattening for the same price. It costs us clothing in place of eggs for the grandchildren as they get so many eggs without us buying them as well.
