The principal resigned after letting a christian rock band espouse anti-gay views at a middle school.

The good news is the principal resigned. The bad news is that this group still exists, attempting to spread hate to our kids.

Well, as usual, one has to seek independent sources for information in order to find out what really happened - something I did. But, even if one looks at just the accusations listed in the article at the horrified HuffPo, they come down to this:
1. They showed pictures of aborted fetuses
2. They said homosexuals have an average lifespan of only forty-two.
Well, if one is going to allow that these teen girls have every right to abortion on demand, then I cannot understand why it is they are too delicate to know what abortion is, or does, or looks like. The fact is that no one wants to look at an aborted fetus, because it doesn't look like a lump of tissue and these girls might decide that they don't think abortion is such a cool thing after all.
As for number 2, well that's true. I don't care if you don't like it, it's still true. There are two separate studies that back up that statement. Here's one here from the National Institutes of Health:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9923159
Aside from telling the teens the truth, what did they do wrong? Oh wait, I know. They were religious. Sorry, I should have figured that out. They are only telling the truth because they are religious and they know people hate the truth.

My question to you is. Who in their right mind thinks its cool to go get knocked up and then go have a piece of them killed? Sure sounds like fun to me.

I knew someone would ignore the entire post and focus on the word "cool".
Just a matter of biology, though, it's not a piece of them that is killed. It's someone else. However, I would argue for people to have the right to kill a piece of themselves. Just not other people's selves.

Just for the record I did read your whole post. I did feel the need to comment on anything else. Just as I do not feel the need to comment on anything else from this post because it is not going to get me anywhere.

He did not just put down gay people, he put down single parents etc. I am a single parent and all of my girls are grown now and wonderful, smart, responsible people. I raised them to be caring of others and not to discriminate against those that are different. In other words, don't judge a person by their sexuality, skin color, religion , financial status etc. I'm sure that by the time they were in middle school my daughters would have listened to this speaker and just figured that he is entitled to his opinion of which they don't have to subscribe. Regardless of how they reacted to the speaker, he would have been a topic of discussion for us and should have been for the teacher. I don't view controversy as a bad thing. It has always been a tool in which to open conversations up about these things.

But nobody will book them. So, it will disappear on its own.

I don't understand why you think this Christian rock band was spreading hate. What did they say that equates to hatred? Did they say or even suggest that homosexuals and those who choose abortion are worthy of hate because of their actions? Did they tell lies? Did they demean anyone? Exactly what did they do that was so wrong? Was it just that they have a point of view that's not popular or appreciated by some?
