How many television sets do you have?

Sometimes I wonder if I am really close to my family. Each one of us in the house has our own television and we all watch different shows. The one time we do watch television together is when we have a movie night. Television sets are becoming so cheap lately. When I was child there were two television sets in the house. If it was something you didn't want to watch you would end up reading or trying to find a board game to play with your siblings. I forget we had radio too. Life has changed so much we had to schedule times to look at different television shows with our parents. If it was not appropriate they would not allow you to look at those shows. There are so many television shows that relate to relationships and life that come off with the wrong message. I monitor what my child watches all the time. Should we have more television sets in our house? Does the amount of televisions tell if there is a closeness in the house?

Oh yes the memories of when I was a little girl, one TV set and that was that. today I have two TV's and it is just for me, I am not sure if it is a good idea to have so many TV sets as when I think back some of the fantastic memories I have with my parents who are now gone, TV brought us closer in those days...

That is sweet. My grandmother and grandfather raised me and I can remember the good times as well when we all set together and watched television. My grandfather has passed on but my grandmother is 75 and she travels the world with no worries. Still calls and sends me and my children presents on special occasions. Those memories make me smile.

That is good. We have a friend who is so materialistic that when he doesn't want a computer monitor or a big screen tv, he ask us if we want them before he gives it to goodwill which is kind of nice for us. I am glad some of us are being smart enough not to watch those crazy sitcoms that come on television.

In my home, there is just one TV, and it's not used that much most of the time, so no real need for anything more. Often I just watch football matches on weekends if alone, or maybe a movie or series if with my family.
For the sake of monitoring what your children watch, the best thing to do is just have one or maybe two, always in public places where all of you can see it. Having it in their rooms is a bad idea for controlling them, as they'll be viewing whatever they want if not closely monitored.

That is awesome. We have that as well in the recreation room with all my daughters toys. She loves those babies and kids shows that have singing like strawberry shortcake and barney. Netflix is a good deal. We got rid of all movie channels on direct television because my husband looks at his hunting and fishing and I look at discovery health then both daughters look at Netflix. We were wondering why we were paying for all these movie channels when we never look at them.

Well, right now in this 'dump' of a place, we can only have one TV, as otherwise it costs too much to run more of them according to the person who pays the bills here. Is that crazy or does it actually make sense, being that running a TV isn't that much money???

In my home, there are two TV set now, but once have a time, there were four, everyone in my home can have his/her own tv set.
Now as the computers take place in my home. My mother and i turn to use computer to watch TV series and do other things, TV set is not needed for us now.

Currently there are three television sets in my house, one is in the living room, the other two are in my bedroom and my parents' bedroom. With the price fall of TV sets, it's quite normal that a family has several TV sets in their houses. But the increase of TV sets doesn't affect the relationship among my families and me. Every evening after having supper, my parents and I often watch TV news and documentaries on the sofa. We also share our interesting experiences during the day with each other, which makes me feel very happy.

we have three television sets here but we only get to use two of them. i don't watch television that much but when there are interesting documentaries showing then i can watch that all day hehehe. and now knowing that i have mylot, i am stuck here on the computer but sometimes it tires me too but i would just rather fix the room and fold my clothes rather than spend it watching television. but trust me, when there are really good documentaries on National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel or AXN, i can stay there in front of the television all day

We only have one television set and it is found in the living room. It's not that we can't afford to buy one, it's just that we have similar preferences as to what to watch. My husband and I also agreed prior to our marriage that there should be no television and laptop inside the bedroom. We have this odd agreement because we noticed that every time we watch tv or use laptop, it would seem that the time is running so fast. So television and laptop is a "no no" in the bedroom.
I think having one television and placing it in the living room, having the whole family watch it together would, for me, help us draw closer to each other.

We only have one and we don't even watch it that much because we were too busy playing with our baby. We watch it only on week end when we don't have agenda to go somewhere. I grew up in big family and my parent put television in each of our bedroom. it wasn't fun because I could not spend more time with my brother, he was busy watching TV even on weekend. I didn't like it at all.

We don't have a television set - we live in a small space and just didn't have space for it, considering that we didn't watch a lot of it.
I guess I will have to figure out some kind of family rule about it when we move to a bigger space, but for now, my son is too young to even care or notice.

I just have only one TV set at home. Today I don't have many time for watching TV. So it doesn't mean anything for me to have one more TV set. One will be good enough for me. Now I prefer to watch from the computer since the time will be flexible. I even think it is no problem that I have no TV at home. As long as I have a computer, it will be good enough.

We don't have TV at home. Me and my husband have each laptop. So, we just read news online and watch some movie on youtube on our spare time. We are kind of busy not much time to set in front of TV. But I wish to have TV at home sometimes.. :)

I only have two television sets, one is living room where everyone can watch and the other one in another private room incase one wants to watch a movie. I think there is no need of having tv in every room, unless you have many living rooms. I do not like tv in the bedrooms since I believe that bedroom should be a place to rest but not a place for watching tv.

Well it depends on each of the family, more tv sets doesn't mean the closeness in the house, like me for instance, every room had a tv sets, including mine which has 2 tv sets in a room, one is for my mac, and one for my game console, but the closeness together with my family are still quite the same. Very close, Very Unite.
