Good cat became bad

We found this kitten on the side walk. We felt sorry for her coz she was crying and was very wet and we knew that she needed home. My husband brought the kitten inside the house and gave her food and milk. The next day, we brought her at the vet to check her. We let her in the house coz our neighbors cat attacked her and almost killed the kitten. We felt sorry for her and we took care of her. And now that she is big and strong, she tried to bite us and my daughter and made a big scratch on leg. She's been doing it us many times already and we are getting to be fed up on her. I hated it when she bit my toe! And how many times she tried to steal out foods too. This cat is a wild cat and we don't know what to do with it.

I told my husband to get rid of that cat, but he felt sorry for the cat. He tried to bring it to the vet and live it there but the vet doesn't want it. :(

They have to be taught gradually, please don't give up on her. My cat was a stray and so skinny when we took her in. Hungry too, we fed her whenever she wanted food but would try to take out food too, but be persistant and tell her no and she will stop. As for the scratching, do you have scratching posts and toys there? Maybe you can buy her some if not. Are there a few litter boxes with clean litter in them daily? My cat sometimes gets in a bad mood and will try to bite or scratch, but it's not very serious. Mine tried to scratch the trim on the doorways too but persisant NO's have stopped her. How long have you had this cat?

Also have you had a vet examine her and see what might be the cause of her aggression. I keep thinking of a TV show that is on here about a man who goes house to house in search of people with cats like this, they bite, scratch, attack and always at the end of the story he makes things better for them all. I have learned alot from this show. He even goes as far as building shelves on the inside of the house to fulfill the cats needs to climb higher and not have to stay on the floor at all times, which is a benefit to cats. I can't think of anything else than what I have mentioned to help you with her but if I do I will let you know. I'd hate to hear that she is on the streets again. Some places even go as far as putting cats like this to sleep needlessly cause the people don't want to work with them, it takes too much of their time, energy etc. Be sure to wash all the cat scratches and bites with soap and water immediately and put some medicine on them so you don't have an infection. I care about both people and animals.
