They sometimes show the kids at the start of How I Met Your Mother. The girl is played by Lyndsy Fonseca who is currently starring on Nikita on the CW but I don't know who plays the boy. They almost never say anything. I can only think of a couple of times and one of those was on a rerun that I saw today about the group smoking and trying to quit. Each time Ted would mention a character was smoking, the kids would say together "What" in an incredulous voice; so they spoke and were shown several times in that episode. I try to note when the kids are shown because I am a fan of Lyndsy Fonseca. Of course all the quick scenes, probably including the ones where they speak, were filmed at about the same time. Of course since the show is still on, there probably won't be any more with them speaking especially for Lyndsy because she is on Nikita; they will just show the same scene of them sitting on the sofa.

The boy that sits next to the girl on the couch is David Henrie. He also plays Justin Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place. My youngest watches that show, so that's where I saw him from. I wish they would show more of the kids, maybe in a later setting. They don't have to show their mom to do this.

The daughter, Lyndsy Fonseca is one of the stars of Nikita on the CW network which is still putting out new episodes and as far as I know has not connection with CBS. I'm not saying it can't happen but I think it is unlikely especially since all the kids scenes appear to be old.

Those are interesting facts. What is more interesting is the idea you have just started to form in my mind. I mean, I started wondering what if this show gets to run longer and then they will soon include episodes where the children takes part of the story and are no longer just sitting on the sofa. Well, the title wouldn't make sense by then but I was just thinking.
Bu the way, thanks for mentioning that fact about Nikita. I ow a copy of the first season but never really got to watch it. Now I think I have the reason to.
