i always prefer paper books than e-books. we can't sit and study for a long time by seeing the monitor. so i use e-books with less papers only. if i want to refer some big books i will buy paper books in discounts. we will get eye problem if we use computer for a long time. so my vote is for paper books.

Hi there, i like all the books whether its paper or e books all are nice, but each have its advantages and bad side also, papers books can tear easily and may not stay long time with you while eboos stay long time and in bst situations also it does nto take space when you have them with you any where you go. I like ebooks now more its new

I am the kind of person that needs to feel the book in my hands. I need the texture of the paper and the smell of a book as I turn its pages. I gind it easier to read a paper book for hours then looking at a screen. I just need a physical book.

I still prefer buying the book than ebook.. like what will happen if the ebook breaks and you dont have money to get a new one. cheaper to get paperback I think.

Honestly speaking I prefer to download not just eBooks but more so audio books. Then I burn that on a disk and playback as I do other stuff around the house. I have audio books from Stephen king all the way to the king James version Bible. You should give it a try

I prefer both ebooks and paperbooks. With ebooks there is a high chance something could happen to the device the books are on and you loose everything that's on it. With the paperbooks, I will have them as long as I want. I can pass them down to my kids when they are older. I do like ebooks because I can read them anywhere. I have the device installed on my phone. I can read anywhere I like without having to pull out a bulky book. Both have it's perks and downsides.

Paperback is still needed because not all paper back books are replaceble by ebooks. Ebooks are a lot easier and handy to carry as it's software installed in computer or smart phones. Ebook reading is definitely much better.

I actually love both formats. I am a book lover, I don't care what shape they're in . But these days, I have to say that I prefer ebooks. They're more convenient and more nature friendly, you know, less paper being used.
I also have a two year old daughter, and I am sure she would just tear the paper book for fun.

I cannot stand reading for pleasure on a screen. I'm set in my ways, but it is the ways that I enjoy and the ways that I will always enjoy when I am reading books. I do like a good old fashioned book right in my hands. The feel, the smell, the sights, the sounds, the taste...well maybe not the taste, but you get the point. There is just something that is completely enjoyable about reading a book in my hands that gets lost through ebooks.
Not saying that e-books don't have their purpose. If I am researching things, I would rather gnaw my writs off than leaf through page after page, trying to find something. They are good for research. But for good old fashioned reading, got to stick with the friend that brought me to the dance, that being paper back books or hard back books. Got to go with what I enjoy and what is most enjoyable as well to my experience.

E-books for me. I really feel that paper books will become obsolete one day, and will only be accessible in libraries. It is just not being done very sustainably. IF it were only printed on recycled paper or hemp then it is okay. But it makes no sense to me that they are using such a valuable resource like trees (beautiful plus oxygen creators) in order to create paper books, which is so last season (I mean out-dated).
It is short-sighted and greedy. Trees take time to grow. Longer than we do, what kind of world are we going to leave our children?
It is a part of an old paradigm, one that is being quickly ousted. I refuse to buy paper books but I do purchase e-books and have done so since about 2004.
I hate that trees are being cut down for such an old outdated thing - it sickens me. The cutting down of trees angers me - so if more books can show that they are being printed on more sustainable resources (hemp, recycled paper etc...) I refuse to buy one.
I choose E-books - even though it is not completely environment friendly, it is the more conscious choice, in my honest opinion. Also, as I travel quite a bit, carrying paper books are just not user-friendly (I had to while I was studying).

I like paper books, maybe it's just habit or tradition, but paper books are "real" objects. E-books have certain advantages, such as less space needed for keeping them, they are easier to carry, but downside is that electronic devices need batteries and have to be protected from weather conditions. Another thing is that is much more likely that someone will still a e-book reader than book.
For some time I was thinking that paper used for books is not ecologically friendly, but since I'm buying mostly paperbacks (usually don't have money for hard covers), they are mostly printed on recycled paper, so it's OK. Besides, energy that electronic devices use for reading e-books is not very eco-friendly neither.
One thing that is in my opinion is absolute plus for paper books, are books with photos and pictures. I just prefer good print over any digital media.

Well, i have always been a paperback reader, although I did try reading e-books some time ago. I feel a little uncomfortable, plus whenever I am on the computer were I usually read e-books, reading e-books becomes the last thing on my mind because of the things I want or need to do. I think I would really love reading e-books if I have my tablet.

Personally, I download ebooks into my smartphone and I still buy paper books.
For the ebooks, I have my android phone to read novels, blogs, websites, etc. as lighting conditions also do not matter. The problem is that I tend to have eye strain if I spend too much time on reading ebooks compared to paper books.
As for paper books, I also love them because they don't need batteries and I can read them just anywhere. The problem is that sometimes paper books are bulky and heavy.

I do not download ebooks. I dont have anything to download them to. Well i have a iphone but my battery dont last that long for me to read a book and im not real sure how it would work when you are reading it and dont finish it. I would love to get the apple ipad and do that though. Because i would so take up less space like you said if i would just down load the books and read them when i want. I dont have much time anymore to read but when i like to read then i want to read a book then my kids get a hold of it and i have to put it up and then i forget all about i was reading it at all. So i dont make it very far into a book.

Because of the cost of living nowadays I always go to my local library to borrow books. I still prefer to have the feel of a proper book in my hands when reading.
If there is a particular book that I want I will look to see if it is on special offer before buying it. Sometimes you can find really good quality books at charity shops or the library does sell books off when they haven't been borrowed for quite some time, the only problem with this is that they tear out the page that the label was on and also stamp 'withdrawn' on it as well.

I love both. Once in a while, I like thumb through the pages of paperback, feeling the grain of the paper against your fingers and smelling that paper scent. You can't do with ebooks though.
